I HAVE A VISION
Dear Mayor Evans,
I am writing to you with a vision—one that has the power to transform not only the Latin
community in Rochester but the entire city. This is more than just an idea; it is a movement, a
calling, and an opportunity for us to step forward and create something that will change lives for
generations to come.
With the recent wave of migrant workers arriving in Rochester, our Latin community is growing
rapidly. Many come seeking opportunity but face overwhelming challenges—economic
hardship, language barriers, and a lack of resources. What they need is a foundation, a place
where their most essential needs are met, and their spirits can be lifted. This is where the heart
of my vision lies: a non-profit church organization - dedicated to serving these individuals
through both spiritual support and tangible community resources.
This organization would be much more than a place of worship. It would be a beacon of hope, a
sanctuary where families can receive food, supplies, and guidance. It would be a place where
people come not just to pray, but to rebuild their lives, find peace, and take their first steps
toward a brighter future. We will offer food pantries to feed the hungry, shelters and supplies for
the homeless, and city resources to help our Latin neighbors navigate the challenges of life in a
new city.
Faith is the cornerstone of our culture, Mayor Evans. It brings us peace in times of chaos and
hope when life feels uncertain. But this vision is about more than faith alone—it’s about lifting up
an entire community, about coming together to create an environment where everyone feels
seen, supported, and empowered. It is an opportunity to build a Rochester where faith and
action work hand in hand to create real, lasting change.
I can assure you that nothing like this has been done before in Rochester. The scale, the
ambition, the depth of our commitment—it is unprecedented. The Latin community has long
desired a space not just for worship but for fellowship, creativity, and inspiration. A space that is
alive with activity and opportunities. Our dream is to create that space:
- A fully interactive children’s daycare: For parents who are working or attending services,
providing a safe and nurturing space for their children to learn and play.
- Classrooms for educational programs: Offering language classes, job readiness training, and
other essential skills to help people succeed.
- Offices for counseling and private meetings: Ensuring that individuals and families can receive
personal support as they work to overcome the challenges they face.
- A café and welcoming lobby: A place where people from all walks of life can gather, connect,
and build meaningful relationships—because community starts with conversation.
We know that in order to make this vision a reality, we must embrace technology. High-quality
media equipment will allow us to create a professional presence on media platforms like
YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, ensuring that our message of hope reaches far beyond the
walls of our building. We envision livestreaming services, producing uplifting digital content, and
creating a library of resources that anyone can access online.
But we won’t stop there. We are also developing a mobile application that will allow us to reach
people in neighboring cities and beyond. This app will provide updates on services, events, and
programs while offering features like live streaming of church services, sermon archives, and
opportunities to volunteer. It will ensure that everyone can stay connected to our mission, no
matter where they are.
Mayor Evans, this is more than just a project. It is a mission of compassion, a movement of
love. We have the chance to build something that will bring people together, heal hearts, and
inspire our community to dream bigger. We are asking for your support to make this vision a
reality, because together, we can create a space where faith, hope, and opportunity flourish.
I would be honored to meet with you to discuss how this project can benefit Rochester. With
your leadership and our shared commitment to service, we can make this vision a reality—a
new chapter in Rochester’s story, one of unity, peace, and transformation.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Let’s make history together.
Sincerely,
Ezekiel Feliberty
