Everybody is shocked at his disappearance, including the IT teacher, Mr Hayes. Harry and Matt explain to Jess, their classmate, that all Edward wants to do is to play online games and they haven’t spent time with him recently. Jess wants to help the boys find Edward. When they remember the reaction videos that Edward likes to make, they check his videos and find one that shows him in a dark room, with a scared expression on his face. It seems that Edward is playing a game with someone called Angel, but he warns people not to trust her because she is dangerous. The kids want to tell the police about this game, but suddenly all the videos are deleted, and they are left with no proof of what they have just seen. They are about to give up when Jess receives an invitation to play the game, together with Matt and Harry. With no other way of finding Edward, they agree. The game takes the three children on a quest around the centre of London. They have to solve clues to find various locations, like the London Eye, Cleopatra’s needle, the Globe Theatre and the skate park on the South Bank. While the kids are solving the clues, they are sure that Angel is watching them and they become suspicious that Mr Hayes may be involved because he worked for a hi-tech company that connected security cameras. They decide to return to the school to search Mr Hayes’ computer and see if they can find any clues. While there, Mr Hayes appears, and explains that Angel was a piece of software – AI that he created to solve problems and play games. His company wanted to used it to track criminals and terrorists, but he realised they could also use it to follow innocent people and so he decided to close Angel down. Mr Hayes is shocked that Angel is actively tracking them. He tries to deactivate the system, which causes a dangerous fire in the school. The kids escape and solve the final clue that leads them to Battersea Power Station, where there is a lot of construction work. They find the room where Edward is trapped and manage to free him, but not before Angel realises what they are doing. Angel tries to crush the children by taking control of a crane in the middle of the construction site, but Mr Hayes succeeds in stopping Angel and the kids are saved.
