En el anterior ciclo del Examen Periódico Universal, Burkina recibió recomendaciones
para reforzar el sistema de protección de derechos humanos, especialmente la lucha contra
la impunidad. Para ello es esencial garantizar la independencia del poder judicial y su
financiación suficiente. España desearía conocer cuál es la situación actual de la revisión de
la ley sobre el estatuto de la judicatura y la ley sobre composición y operación del Consejo
Supremo de la Justicia, y qué medidas están previéndose para mejorar la eficacia de la
acción de la Justicia en la lucha contra la impunidad.
During the first cycle of the UPR, Burkina Faso received recommendations regarding the
strengthening of the HR protection system, especially regarding the fight against impunity.
For this matter, it is essential to guarantee the judiciary independence and its suitable
funding. Spain would like to know about the current situation of the revision of the judiciary
law and the law about the composition and work of the Supreme Court of Justice and what
measures are being considered to enhance the efficiency of the action of justice concerning
the fight against impunity.

En el marco de la lucha contra la discriminación, desearíamos saber qué tipo de
acción y campañas se han adoptado para la integración de personas con VIH – SIDA, así
como la salvaguardia de sus derechos.
Regarding the fight against discrimination, we would like to know what type of actions and
campaigns have being undertaken to integrate persons with HIV-AIDS and the protection of
their rights.

Hemos leído su informe nacional la lista de prioridades establecidas para mejorar la
situación de los derechos humanos. Nos sorprende la ausencia de referencias al
cumplimiento del derecho al agua potable y al saneamiento, esencial para el logro de
algunas de las prioridades recogidas (salud, educación o igualdad de género). Burkina Faso
copatrocinó la última resolución sobre derecho humano al agua potable y al saneamiento.
Desearíamos por ello tener información detallada sobre las medidas que su gobierno ha
adoptado para el cumplimiento del derecho humano al agua potable y al saneamiento.
We have read your national report and the list of priorities established to improve the
situation of HR. We are very surprised by the absence of a reference to the fulfilment of the
right to access to safe drinking water and sanitation, essential to attain some of the
described priorities (health, education or gender equality). Burkina Faso co-sponsored the
latest resolution on drinking water and sanitation. We would like to have further
information about the measures that your government has adopted for the enforcement of
the right to drinking water and sanitation.
