¿Estamos realmente frente a una revolución?
-Antes había escasez de información. Ahora los volúmes y el tipo
de information que se genera y fluye en el mundo es abundante y
está creciendo a tasas exponenciales: voz, datos, video, imagenes,
juegos, musica, bits, …..
-Las tecnologías estan mudando la forma y velocidad del uso de la
información: impresa y analógica a digital; experta (editada y
sustentada) a popular; texto alfanumérico a texto rico digital; etc.
¿Estamos realmente frente a una revolución?
-La gestión de la información (make sense of it) se torna cada vez
mas crítica: calidad, síntesis, privacidad, propiedad intelectual,
…..
-La informaión es global y sus usuarios son cada vez mas jóvenes.
-Las brechas de acceso a la información de acortan

-Los lugares donde se almacena y gestiona la información migran:
la nuve, gadgets, cloud computing, ….
-La tecnología cambia y se potencia rapidamente: capacidad de
memoria, velocidad, portabilidad, amigabilidad, tiempo real,
confiabilidad, compresion.

-El valor y el costo de la tecnologia, de la conectividad y de la
informacion caen aceleradamente.
