Apart from the Public Administration, the Chambers
of Commerce are the organisations that dedicate the
most resources to promoting the internationalisation
of Spanish companies.
The Chambers of Commerce, along with the State
Agency of Tributary Administration (AEAT) have launched two online databases:
• PIPE 2000. Plan for Initiating Foreign Trade Promotions among SMEs.
• Directory of Spanish Export and Import Companies: Lists Spanish firms that buy and sell abroad.

foreign trade operations, broken down by product,
country and province.

It is now possible to find out online which companies
export or import a specific product through the Directory of Spanish Export and Import Companies.
This is a tool that shows where the company has an
international presence and the countries with which it
has established trade relations.
The objective is to present export/import companies
through a tool that promotes international trade and
builds business relationships.
The Directory is an essential source of information for any
company seeking to start out in international trade.
What information does it provide?
The user can find:
• Name of the company
• Address
• Contact information: phone numbers, e-mail, web

Database]
The Foreign Spanish Trade Database offers updated
information on international operations from Spain.
The user can find statistics on Spanish commercial transactions free of charge, from tonnes transported or types of
merchandise to number of operations to a particular destination. All of this data is broken down by provinces.
The database is updated monthly, therefore provides
access to the latest information available on Spanish foreign
trade.

• Products traded (broken down into 8 digits)
The official data gathered by the Chambers of Commerce and
the State Agency of Tributary Administration may be added to
and updated by the companies themselves. Information provided on the Internet site is free of charge.
How to join in?
The Directory includes all companies that have given their
express authorisation to be listed in it. To do so, they must complete the questionnaire available on the Directory web site
www.camaras.org or from the State Agency of Tributary
Administration at www.aeat.es.
The update service provides the possibility of informing the
user by e-mail every time new information is added to the
database.
What information does it provide?
The information obtained from the official customs data is
provided according to the user's preferences, based on a
series of fields:
• Flows: imports or exports
• Period: year and specific month or aggregated interval
of several months
• Product: approximately 9,000 possible items traded
• Spain and details by autonomous region or province
• Country, continent or economic area where trade is
conducted
The data can refer to the origin or destination of the operations, legal address of the company or a combination of
both.
The information is grouped by several criteria, providing
the possibility for derivative statistics: coverage rate, trade
balance or inter-annual variation rate, among others.
The data can be downloaded in a text format compatible
with spreadsheet programs.
The companies may register, cancel
or update the data displayed in the
Directory at any time and always without charge.
