This slogan is the message to provide to the
general public, it reflects the objectives laid
down for the IYCP: let us cultivate peace
around us. Incorporating the six official
languages, its use was foreseen for any
international communication targeting
the general public and, in particular, for
reproduction on products such as stickers,
pens, tee-shirts, etc. In general, we recommend
that it be accompanied somewhere by the
mention of «2000 International Year for
the Culture of Peace» and by the presence
of the official logo for the IYCP.
Ce slogan est le message à faire passer auprès
du grand public, il répond aux objectifs fixés
pour l’AICP : cultivons la paix autour de nous ;
décliné dans les six langues officielles, il a été
pensé pour toute communication
internationale ciblant le grand public et
notamment pour la reproduction
sur des produits (auto-collants, stylos, teeshirt, etc.).
Este lema contiene el mensaje que hay que
difundir entre el gran público y responde a
los objetivos fijados por el AICP: Cultivemos la
Paz a nuestro alrededor. Declinado en los seis
idiomas oficiales, se utilizará en toda
comunicación de ámbito internacional
destinada al gran público y especialmente para
su reproducción sobre los productos
relacionados con la campaña (pegatinas,
bolígrafos, camisetas, etc.).

En général, nous recommandons qu’il soit
accompagné quelque part de la mention
« 2000 Année internationale de la culture
de la paix » ou par la présence du logo officiel
de l’AICP.
En general, recomendamos que vaya
acompañado en alguna parte de la mención:
«2000 Año Internacional de la Cultura de Paz»,
dada la presencia del logotipo oficial
del AICP.
You may note from the multi-language version
of the slogan that two different variations
are possible depending on the language
(English, Arabic and Russian slogans are
variations of «peace is in our hands», while
the French, Spanish and Chinese slogans
are based on the cultivation of peace).
The slogan can be written in any other
language so long as the dimensions and
typography are respected as indicated.
Selon la langue, il existe deux variantes
du slogan : « cultivons la paix » en français,
espagnol et chinois, et « la paix est entre nos
mains » en anglais, arabe et russe. Le slogan
peut être décliné dans toute langue selon
l'une ou l'autre des variantes en respectant
les dimensions et la typographie indiquées.

Según el idioma, existen dos versiones del
lema: «cultivemos la paz» en francés, español
y chino, y «la paz está en nuestras manos»
en inglés, árabe y ruso. Se puede traducir
el lema según una u otra versión respetando
las dimensiones y la tipografía indicadas.
