Enrique Bonsón is Professor of Accounting at the University of Huelva, Spain. He graduated and received his PhD from the University of Sevilla, Spain. His teaching experience encompasses a variety of accounting courses, including financial, management, accounting information systems and financial analysis. At the posgraduate level he has taught seminars on Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems in Accounting, Digital Accounting, Research Methodologies in Accounting and XBRL. He has a range of interrelated research interests in Accounting Information Systems, Continuous Audit, Corporate Reporting and the Internet, Corporate Social Responsibility, Digital Assurance, Integrated Reporting, Social Media and Web 2.0 for Stakeholder´s Engagement His research publications appear in Financial Markets, Institutions and Instruments, Government Information Quarterly, the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, the International Journal of Digital Accounting Research, the International Journal of Networking and Virtual Organisations, Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance, the New Review of Applied Expert Systems and Emerging Technologies, the Online Information Review, ONLINE: The Magazine for Information Professionals, Revista de Contabilidad, Revista Española de Financiación y Contabilidad, Revista Internacional Legis de Contabilidad y Auditoría, Review of Economics and Business Studies and many other business and professional periodicals. He is co-editor of the International Journal of Digital Accounting Research, and has served on editorial boards of several respected journals, including Global Perspectives on Accounting Education, International Journal of Accounting, International Journal of Managerial and Financial Accounting, Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting, New Review of Applied Expert Systems and Emerging Technologies and Review of Economics and Business Studies. Professor Bonsón is a member of the Spanish Association of Accounting Academics and a member of the Spanish Accounting and Business Association (AECA) where, he was the Secretary (2001-2008), and currently the President of the Commission for New Technologies in Accounting. He was a founding member and coordinator of the provisional jurisdiction of XBRL Spain (2002-2004) where, since its constitution as a full jurisdiction in 2004, he serves as Vice-president. In 2011 he was elected for the Finance and Human Resources Committee of XBRL International. At the University of Huelva, he organized a number of national and international conferences: The International Meetings on Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies in Accounting (1995-2000), the Simposiums de Contabilidad Digital Universidad-Empresa (2001-2003), the Digital Accounting Research Conferences (2004-2006) and the Jornadas de Análisis de la Información Empresarial y del Sector Público (2008-2012). He received the Award for Notable Contributions to Artificial Intelligence/Expert Systems Teaching in Accounting (AI/ET Section of the AAA) in 1997, the Spanish Accounting Association Best Paper Award in 2001 and the Accounting Research Award "Carlos Cubillo Valverde" in 2001. His research activity 1996-2001 and 2002-2008 received a positive evaluation from the Spanish Agency for Evaluation of Research in 2002 and 2009 respectively.
