GIOVANNA CAMPANI is Full Professor of Intercultural Education, Gender Anthropology, Intercultural Communication. She holds a PhD. in Ethnology, University of Nice (1988) on "Family, Village and Regional Networks of Italian Immigrants in France" and a Master of Philosophy, University of Pisa, on "History, Science and Sociology in Max Weber's Thought". Her research has focused various topics, as social movements, social inclusion, comparative education, sociology of migration and gender issues. Gender (in the intersectionality with class and ethnicity) has become her main field of studies in the last ten years. She has been principal coordinator of the Italian team in numerous EU project and she has herslef coordinated EU projects in the field of migration and gender. Giovanna Campani is author of different books and has published many articles in peer reviewed journals.
