The 2016-17 school year begins for high school freshmen on Tuesday, Aug. 23, while all other LPISD students head back to class on Wednesday, Aug. 24. Meet and Greet sessions scheduled for elementary campuses on Aug. 22 La Porte ISD elementary schools will hold “Meet and Greet” sessions for students and their parents on Monday, Aug. 22. The event will provide families with the opportunity to meet their child’s teachers and drop off school supplies prior to the first day of school. At some locations, spirit shirts and other items will be available for purchase.
