DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA MATERIA:
En este curso se estudia la redacción de cartas comerciales, el curriculum vitae,
memorandos, faxes, correspondencia electrónica (e-mail) , las partes de la carta,
dominio de todo tipo de carta comercial y la traducción de cartas del inglés al
español.
OBJETIVO GENERAL: GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Prepare the students for writing
all types of commercial correspondence with the corresponding techncial
vocabulary and appropriate business terminology as well as the proper translation
to Spanish.
OBJETIVOS ESPECÍFICOS: SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE: To enable students to use
the technical vocabulary, correct grammatical constructions, punctuation and
different structures depending on the type of letter they have to write and its
corresponding translation to Spanish.

METODOLOGÍA: The teacher will give a brief explanation of the different types of
letters and its parts. Students will analyze the examples. Exercises in the book will
be checked in class. The exercises assigned for homework as well as translation
will be corrected and discussed in class. The writing activities will be assigned for
homework. Homework will be collected and graded. Translation activities will be
done orally and written. Translation examples will be done in class. If a student
misses a class, he or she will not be justified. Depending on the case, the student
can present late work or an exam. The student not only has to translate but also
how to write a letter correctly.
