NS offers. Of course you can also purchase a railway ticket at every station
from the NS ticket machines (with the NS
logo on top as shown in the image to
the right), and at the Tickets &
Servicewinkels located at many stations.
Types of tickets
You can travel with the NS on a single-use smart card or using the
OV-chipkaart.

1. Single-use smart card
The single-use smart card is a paper
ticket with a chip on the inside. If you
don’t think you will be using public
transport that often, the single-use
smart card is a good choice. You can
buy these at the NS ticket machines and
at the Tickets & Service Desk at most
stations. The single-use smart card is
available as a one-way ticket, round-trip
day ticket or day ticket.
2. OV-chipkaart
Will you be staying in the Netherlands
for an extended period of time? If so,
the OV-chipkaart might be a good idea

The NS ticket machine with the NS logo
for you. The OV-chipkaart is a smart
card that you can use for every type of
public transport in the Netherlands. This
means you only need one card to travel
by train, tram, bus and metro.
There are two types of OV-chipkaart:
the personal OV-chipkaart and the
anonymous OV-chipkaart. You can
order the personal OV-chipkaart via
ov-chipkaart.nl, or by filling in an appli-

We have several convenient and inexpensive types of tickets just for tourists
visiting Amsterdam.
1.Ticket Schiphol AirportAmsterdam
You can purchase a single-use smart
card for a round trip between Schiphol
Airport and Amsterdam. This ticket is
valid for one trip from Schiphol Airport
to any station in Amsterdam, and back

Once you have purchased an
OV-chipkaart, all you have to do is activate it at an NS ticket machine. In order
to use your OV-chipkaart for travel with
the NS, you must have a minimum balance of € 20 on your card. Do you
already have an NS Season Ticket? If so,
the minimum balance is only € 10.

2. Amsterdam Travel Ticket
The easy-all-in-one Amsterdam Travel
Ticket includes unlimited second-class
travel between Schiphol Airport and any
station in Amsterdam on NS trains and
the Amsterdam Airport Express (bus
197) and Niteliner (bus N97) operated
by Connexxion. Combined with unlimited travel throughout Amsterdam on all
trams, buses, night buses, metros and
ferries operated by the Amsterdam
transport company GVB, this is the perfect ticket for exploring Amsterdam.

The NS ticket machines
You can buy a single ticket or an anonymous OV-chipkaart at these machines.
These are only available from the
NS ticket machines with the blue sign at
the top featuring the NS logo. Do you
already have an anonymous or personal
OV-chipkaart? If so, you can add money
to the balance on your card at any
NS ticket machine.
The NS ticket machine displays step-bystep instructions on how to do this. You
can use your bank card or credit card
(V PAY, Maestro, Mastercard and Visa)
to pay at these machines, and some of
them even accept coins. If you use Visa
or Mastercard to pay, please take into
account you will be charged a fee of
€ 0.50. All bank and credit card transactions require you to enter your PIN code.
Planning your trip
To look up travel information during
your journey, go to the NS Travel
Planner on ns.nl/en, or download the
free Reisplanner Xtra app for Apple or
Android devices.
You can also save your planned trip in
the Reisplanner Xtra app and receive
alerts about your journey, such as
reminders to check out. The Reisplanner
Xtra app also shows you how full the
train is and provides information on
specific stations like the available ser­
vices and shops.
You can also take the Intercity Direct
train. This train allows you to travel
extra fast between Amsterdam Central
Station, Schiphol Airport, Rotterdam
Central Station and Breda. A surcharge
does apply for travel on the SchipholRotterdam Central Station section.

You will find the poles and gates with
card readers at the following locations:
in the station hall (if the station has
one), and otherwise on (the way to) the
platform. There are stations with station
halls which also have these poles on the
platforms. These poles are located at
extra entrances and exits leading to car
parks or bicycle parking facilities.
You check in by holding your card up to
the circle with the pink OV-chipkaart
logo. Do you have an e-ticket? If so, just
hold the square barcode on your ticket
up to the lit-up square to open the gate.
You will hear a ‘beep’ sound that indicates you have checked in successfully.
Where possible, there are gates and
poles located along the routes to the
platforms; you will actually always find
one as you are walking to your train.

Trains to Amsterdam depart from
Schiphol Airport on a regular basis.
These include:
»A train to Amsterdam Central Station
every 15 minutes. This is an Intercity
or Sprinter train, and the terminus
and intermediate stations may vary.
»A Sprinter to Almere Oostvaarders
every 15 minutes. This train stops at
the Duivendrecht, Amsterdam Zuid
and Amsterdam RAI stations.
»An Intercity to Leeuwarden/Enschede
every half hour. This train stops at the
Duivendrecht and Amsterdam Zuid
stations.

At the end of your journey with NS, you
must always check out again, the same
way you checked in. You will hear two
beeps when you check out. If you are
travelling on an e-ticket, you can only
check in and out at a gate. If you are at
a station without gates, you can just
walk to your train with an e-ticket. The
poles can only read an OV-chipkaart, so

from travel on the NS to another transportation company, or to another form
of public transport? If so, you must first
check out with NS, and then in again
for the bus, tram or metro operated by
the other transportation company.

also travel on international trains operating within the Netherlands. You can
use your single-use smart card,
OV-chipkaart and e-ticket for travel on:

advance reservations for Thalys.

Lost and found
It can happen to anyone - you leave
something behind or lose it on the train,
or at the station. Check with the Tickets
& Servicewinkel, OV-servicewinkel or

ask one of our employees where to
report this. We store found objects at
the station for up to five days. After
this, we send them to the Central Lost
Property Office (Centraal Bureau
Gevonden Goed) where they are stored
for three months. If you have lost property on the train or at the station, fill in
the ‘Lost item return request’ form on
ns.nl/en/lostproperty.
If you have found property belonging to
someone else, please turn it in to an NS
employee. We will do our very best to
return the object to its rightful owner.

Bei NS reisen Sie entweder mit einer
Einzelfahrkarte oder mit einer sogenannten OV-chipkaart.
1. Einzelfahrkarte
Die Einzelfahrkarte ist eine Fahrkarte
aus Papier mit einem Chip auf der
Innenseite. Wenn Sie wenig mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln reisen werden, ist
eine Einzelfahrkarte eine gute Wahl.
Diese Fahrkarten sind am
NS-Fahrkartenautomaten und an den
meisten Bahnhöfen auch im Tickets &
Servicewinkel erhältlich.

bestellt werden. In Kombination mit
einem NS-Abonnement ist die persönliche OV-chipkaart gratis. Für eine persönliche OV-chipkaart ohne
Abonnement oder eine anonyme
OV-chipkaart zahlen Sie einmalig 7,50 €.
Die anonyme OV-chipkaart können Sie
direkt an einem NS-Fahrkartenauto­
maten oder einer anderen Verkaufsstelle
kaufen, siehe dazu ov-chipkaart.nl/
adresvinder.

Fahrt vom Flughafen Schiphol nach
Amsterdam und zurück kaufen. Diese
Fahrkarte gilt für eine Fahrt vom
Flughafen Schiphol zu jedem Bahnhof in
Amsterdam und zurück. Diese Fahrkarte
können Sie am NS-Fahrkartenautomaten
oder im Tickets & Servicewinkel kaufen.

Vom Flughafen Schiphol fahren regelmäßig Züge in Richtung Amsterdam.

Amsterdam Centraal (Hauptbahnhof):
Das ist ein Intercity oder Sprinter und
die Zielbahnhöfe und Haltestellen
können je nach Zug anders sein.
»Alle 15 Minuten ein Sprinter nach
Almere Oostvaarders: Dieser hält in
Duivendrecht, Amsterdam Zuid und
Amsterdam RAI.
»Jede halbe Stunde ein Intercity nach
Leeuwarden/Enschede: Dieser hält in
Amsterdam Zuid und Duivendrecht.

Darüber hinaus können Sie auch mit
dem Intercity Direct fahren. Mit diesem
Zug reisen Sie besonders schnell zwischen Amsterdam Centraal, Schiphol,
Rotterdam Centraal und Breda. Für die

Centraal wird ein Zuschlag erhoben. Für

Bezüglich anderer Reiseziele und aktueller Reiseinformationen verweisen wir

Ein- und Auschecken
OV-chipkaart oder Ihrem E-Ticket öffnen. Auch wenn die Türschleuse bereits
geöffnet ist, müssen Sie einchecken.
Sie finden die Stelen und Türschleusen
an den folgenden Stellen: in der
Bahnhofshalle, sofern eine vorhanden
ist, oder auf dem Bahnsteig (bzw. am
Aufgang zum Bahnsteig). Es gibt
Bahnhöfe mit einer Bahnhofshalle, an
denen auch Stelen auf den Bahnsteigen
stehen. Diese Stelen befinden sich dann
bei den zusätzlichen Ein- und
Ausgängen zu einem Parkplatz oder
Fahrradabstellplatz.
Sie checken ein, indem Sie Ihre Karte
vor den Kreis mit dem rosafarbenen
OV-chipkaart-Logo halten. Haben Sie
ein E-Ticket? Dann halten Sie den viereckigen Strichcode vor das beleuchtete
Feld, um die Türschleuse zu öffnen.
Danach hören Sie einen Piepton: Sie
sind eingecheckt! Die Türschleusen und
Stelen stehen weitestgehend entlang
der üblichen Wege, sodass Sie eigentlich
immer an einer vorbeikommen, wenn
Sie zu Ihrem Zug gehen.
Bei Beendigung Ihrer Reise mit NS müssen Sie auch immer wieder auschecken,
und zwar genauso, wie Sie auch eingecheckt haben. Sie hören dann zwei
Pieptöne. Wenn Sie mit einem E-Ticket
Bevor Sie in den Zug einsteigen, müssen
Sie immer einchecken. Das Einchecken
erfolgt an einer Stele oder Türschleuse.
Die Türschleusen versperren den Zugang
zum Bahnhof mit Türen. Diese lassen
sich mit Ihrer Einzelfahrkarte, Ihrer

Außer den Zügen von NS können Sie
innerhalb der Niederlande auch inter­
nationale Züge nutzen. Mit Ihrer
Einzelfahrkarte, Ihrer OV-chipkaart und
Ihrem E-Ticket reisen Sie:
»mit allen Zügen von NS International
und mit Zuschlag auch im ICE
International. Für den Thalys und
CityNightLine gelten andere
Bedingungen, bei Thalys muss man
beispielsweise im Voraus reservieren.

verloren haben. Erkundigen Sie sich im
Tickets & Servicewinkel oder im OV servicewinkel danach oder fragen Sie einen
unserer Mitarbeiter, an wen Sie sich
wenden können. Gefundene
Gegenstände bewahren wir bis zu 5
Tage am Bahnhof auf. Danach senden
wir sie an das Fundbüro (Centraal
Bureau Gevonden Goed), wo alles 3
Monate aufbewahrt wird. Um Ihren
Gegenstand wiederzufinden, füllen Sie
das Formular „Lost item return request“
unter ns.nl/en/lostproperty aus.

Niederlanden ins Ausland reisen? Gehen

Le billet à usage unique est un billet
papier contenant une puce. Si vous pensez utiliser peu les transports en commun, ce billet à usage unique est le bon
choix. Vous pouvez acheter ce billet aux
distributeurs automatiques NS ainsi
qu’aux points de vente Tickets &
Servicewinkel dans la plupart des gares.
Le billet à usage unique est disponible
pour un aller simple, un aller-retour dans
la journée et une carte pour la journée.

2. OV-chipkaart

Avant de prendre le train, vous devez

La gare est fermée par des portails. Vous

qui vous adresser. Nous conservons les
objets trouvés pendant 5 jours à la gare.
Ensuite, nous les envoyons au bureau
central des objets trouvés (Centraal
Bureau Gevonden Goed) où ils sont
conservés pendant 3 mois. Pour retrouver votre objet, remplissez le formulaire
« Lost item return request » sur

Puede fichar situando su tarjeta sobre el
círculo con el logotipo rosa de la tarjeta
OV-chipkaart. ¿Tiene usted un billete
electrónico? En ese caso, sitúe el código
de barras cuadrado frente a la sección
iluminada para abrir la puerta de acceso. A continuación sonará una señal
acústica: ¡ya ha fichado! Las puertas de
acceso y los postes se encuentran ubicados en los recorridos, en la medida de lo
posible, de modo que siempre se encontrará alguno cuando se dirija a su tren.
Al final de su viaje en NS, deberá fichar
de nuevo del mismo modo que al inicio.

La OV-chipkaart acquistata è attivabile
presso una qualsiasi biglietteria automatica NS. Per viaggiare con NS con la sua
OV-chipkaart, questa dovrà avere un
credito minimo di 20 Euro. Ha un abbonamento NS? In questo caso, il credito
minimo presente sulla tessera dovrà
essere di 10 Euro.
all'inizio che alla fine del suo viaggio Ciò

Può acquistare un biglietto singolo di
andata e ritorno Schiphol AeroportoAmsterdam. Questo biglietto è valido
per una corsa dall'Aeroporto di Schiphol
a qualsiasi stazione di Amsterdam e
ritorno. È in vendita presso le biglietterie
automatiche NS o i punti Tickets &
Service. È inoltre possibile acquistare un
biglietto di sola andata Schiphol
Aeroporto-Amsterdam. Può acquistarlo
presso la biglietteria automatica.

La OV-chipkaart è disponibile in due diverse versioni: la OV-chipkaart personale e la
OV-chipkaart anonima. La OV-chipkaart
personale si richiede tramite chipkaart.nl
oppure compilando un apposito modulo
di domanda e consegnandolo presso il
punto Tickets & Service in stazione.
Sottoscrivendo un abbonamento NS, la
OV-chipkaart personale è gratis. Il prezzo
una tantum di una OV-chipkaart personale senza abbonamento e di una
OV-chipkaart anonima è di € 7,50.

una OV-chipkaart anonima o personale,
può ricaricarla presso tutte le biglietterie
automatiche NS.
La biglietteria automatica NS le indicherà passo dopo passo cosa deve fare.
Qui può pagare con carta bancomat o
carta di credito (V PAY, Maestro,
MasterCard e Visa) e in alcuni casi
anche con monete. Pagando con Visa o
MasterCard, è previsto un addebito
aggiuntivo di € 0,50. Per tutte le carte
di pagamento, è necessario immettere il
PIN.
Pianificare un viaggio
Per ricercare informazioni durante il suo
viaggio, può consultare la sezione apposita sul sito ns.nl/en oppure scaricare
l'app gratuita Reisplanner Xtra per
Apple o Android.
Nella app Reisplanner Xtra potrà salvare
il suo viaggio pianificato e ricevere notifiche sul suo viaggio. Ad esempio, per
ricordarle di riconvalidare il suo titolo di
viaggio all'arrivo. L'app Reisplanner Xtra
le consente inoltre di vedere il numero
di passeggeri presenti su un determinato treno. Fornisce inoltre informazioni

situati nell'atrio della stazione (se presente) oppure in corrispondenza dell'ingresso al binario o lungo il binario stesso. Vi sono stazioni con un atrio provviste di obliteratrici elettroniche anche sui
binari. Queste obliteratrici elettroniche
sono situate presso gli ingressi e le uscite verso il parcheggio o il garage per le
biciclette.
Per convalidare il titolo di viaggio, basta
avvicinarlo al cerchietto rosa recante il
logo OV-chipkaart. In caso di e-ticket
(biglietto elettronico), per aprire il tornello basta avvicinare il codice a barre
quadrato alla finestra illuminata.
L'emissione di un segnale acustico significa che il titolo di viaggio è stato convalidato. Obliteratrici elettroniche e tornelli
sono situati per quanto possibile lungo
le aree da percorrere a piedi, quindi ne
incontrerà sempre uno mentre si reca al
binario.

Se viaggia con un biglietto elettronico,
può convalidarlo in entrata o in uscita
solo presso un tornello. Nelle stazioni
sprovviste di tornelli, non deve fare
nulla. I tornelli sono in grado di leggere
solo OV-chipkaart, pertanto se è in possesso di un biglietto elettronico non
deve fare nulla. È sceso da un treno NS
e deve prendere un treno gestito da un
altro operatore ferroviario o altri mezzi
pubblici? Dovrà riconvalidare prima il
titolo di viaggio uscendo dalla stazione
NS, poi di nuovo sul treno di un altro
operatore ferroviario, sul bus, tram o in
metropolitana.

Se ha dimenticato qualcosa o ha smarrito qualcosa sul treno o in stazione, la
invitiamo a rivolgersi ad un punto
Tickets & Service, ad un punto di assistenza OV-servicewinkel o a chiedere ad
uno dei nostri addetti a chi può rivolgersi. Tutti gli oggetti smarriti vengono
custoditi fino a 5 giorni in stazione.
Successivamente vengono inviati all'Ufficio Centrale Oggetti Smarriti (Centraal
Bureau Gevonden Goed), dove vengono
custoditi per 3 mesi. Per ritrovare un
oggetto smarrito, la invitiamo a compilare il modulo "Lost item return
request" su ns.nl/en/lostproperty.
Se ha trovato un oggetto che non le
appartiene, può consegnarlo a un
dipendente di NS. Faremo del nostro
meglio per restituirlo al legittimo proprietario.
