QUERER = TO WANT and TO LOVE
Querer has the double meaning in Spanish of to want and to love: Quiero
comer = I want to eat. Te quiero = I love you
The majority of the Spanish verbs are regular in the present tense; but there
are a few very important verbs which are called “radical-changing verbs”
because the stem or root of the verb changes in certain forms. Querer is one
of these verbs (other verbs are empezar, cerrar, preferir, etc)
