Enfermedad
In an effort to decrease the spread of contagious illness at school, the school district would like
to remind you of the following:

If your student has a ​
fever​
, he/she must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to
school. This means without the use of fever reducing medications. ​
Fever​
is defined as a
temperature of​
100.0F or greater.
If your student is ​
vomiting​
, he/she must be able to retain 1 or 2 meals without vomiting
before returning to school. ​
Vomiting​
is defined as 2 or more times in a 24 hour
period ​
without a known cause.

If your student (up to 5​
grade) has ​
diarrhea​
, he/she must be diarrhea free for 24 hours
before returning to school. This means without the use of diarrhea suppressing
medication. ​
Diarrhea is defined as 3
​or more episodes of loose stools in a 24
hour​
period without a known cause. ​
​
Grades 6th
​​– 12th
​​do not need to be excluded
unless diarrhea is uncontrolled and/or have other illness symptoms.
School exclusions for illnesses are provided by SC DHEC and district policy. If you have any
questions concerning your student’s health, please contact your school nurse. Thank you for
your assistance in decreasing the spread of illness.

Es muy importante a disminuir la propagación de la enfermedad contagiosa en la escuela, el
distrito escolar le gustaría recordarles lo siguiente:
