Requirements: TOEFL score 550 (paper-based) or 80 (Internet Based)
Application Procedure:
 Program dates: Fall: August 2016-December 2017
 Academic year: August 2016-May 2017;
 Spring: January 2017-May 2017;
Estimated Costs: The USFQ exchangee will incur the following expenses:
o USFQ tuition (not registration fees) and airfare
o Medical Insurance: $200 to $600 per year / $100 to $300 per semester (Depending on receiving
university) – Average is $500 to $600 per year
o Fees: $150 - $800 per year / $75 to $400 per semester (Depending on receiving university) Average is
$300 to $400 per year.
o Books: $600 per year / $300 per semester (BCA provides $200 per semester for books) – After BCA
contribution, average of $200 to 300 per year.
o Personal expenses: $1000 - $1800 per year / $500 – $900 per semester (Depending on the receiving
university) Average is $1600 per year.
o Total per year: $1000 average (depending on receiving university / airfare and personal expenses not
included)
Costs could change
Number of students (at your university): 500 – 3,000; depending on the university. Average of 1,500 students.

Subject areas restricted to exchange students: International students may take any courses; however, majors are
given priority for certain courses, meaning that some are unavailable due to space limitations. Other courses have
minimum language requirements and/or prerequisites.
Scholarships available to USFQ students: room and board waiver
Information to obtain the visa: Students must prove that they have a bank account with sufficient funds to cover the
exchange period ($5000/year or $3000/semester).
