1. Limpie la parte superior de la mesa con un limpiador
doméstico y agua, paños de alcohol o lejía y deje que se seque
con el aire.
1. Clean the table top with a home cleaner and water, alcohol or
bleach wipes, and let it air dry.
2. Lávese las manos durante 15 segundos con jabón líquido y

2. Wash your hands for 15 seconds with liquid soap and water.
Dry them well.

4. Abra el kit de cambio de venda. O rasgue para abrir los
envoltorios de sus suministros pero deje los artículos en los
envoltorios.
5. Debe usar una máscara durante las primeras 3 semanas que
tenga una vía central. Su equipo de atención médica podría
sugerir que use siempre una máscara.

4. Open your bandage change kit. Or tear open the wrappers of
your supplies but leave them in the wrappers.
5. You should wear a mask for the first 3 weeks you have a central
line. Your health care team may tell you to always wear a mask.

7. Si tiene un kit, extienda el paño de papel sobre la mesa y
coloque sus suministros sobre el mismo. Si no tiene un kit,
tome cada artículo de los envoltorios a medida que los vaya
usando.
7. If you have a kit, spread the paper cloth on the table and place
your supplies on it. If you do not have a kit, take each item from
the wrapper as you use it.
8. Quite la venda anterior, el parche y el dispositivo para asegurar
si está presente y deséchelos.
9. Lávese las manos nuevamente. Fíjese si hay signos de infección
en el lugar donde entra la vía en la piel: enrojecimiento,
hinchazón o supuración. Si ve cualquiera de estos signos, o si
el paciente informa un dolor nuevo, llame al número que se
indica abajo.
10.Frote en un círculo de 2 pulgadas alrededor del punto donde
la vía ingresa a la piel. Use el limpiador (excepto si es alérgico).
Pellizque las aletas del limpiador para que funcione y frote
durante 30 segundos. No toque la esponja con sus dedos.
11.Deje que el área se seque con el aire. Esto podría tardar un
minuto entero. No abanique ni sople sobre el área.
12.Ponga el parche antigérmenes (con la ranura hacia abajo y
la parte impresa hacia afuera). Si tiene un dispositivo para
asegurar, colóquelo.
13.Ponga la venda.
Cambie una venda transparente cada 7 días. Cambie una venda
de gasa día por medio. Además, cambie la venda cuando esté
floja, mojada o sucia.

8. Remove the old bandage, the patch and the securing device if
present and throw them away.
9. Wash your hands again. Look for signs of infection where the
line enters the skin: redness, puffiness, or drainage. If you see
any of these signs, or the patient reports new soreness, call the
number below.
10.Scrub in a 2-inch circle around the point where the line enters
the skin. Use the scrubber (unless allergic). Pinch the wings of
the scrubber to make it work and scrub for 30 seconds. Do not
touch the sponge with your fingers.
11.Allow the area to air dry. This may take a full minute. Do not
fan or blow on the area.
12.Put on the anti-germ patch (slit facing down, print facing out).
If you have a securing device, put it on.
13.Put on the bandage.
Change a clear bandage every 7 days. Change a gauze bandage
every other day. And change the bandage when it’s loose, wet or
dirty.

• Ponga Aquagard u otro envoltorio plástico sobre la venda para

• Put Aquagard or other plastic wrap over the bandage to keep
it dry.

ducha hacia la vía.
• Do not soak the area in a bath or shower or point the shower
spray at the line.
