FRANCAIS
Née à New-York Margeaux Lampley a grandi en Californie, bercée dans son enfance par le Gospel,
le jazz et la soul. Après avoir obtenu un diplôme de droit à l’Université de Columbia de New-York elle
débute une carrière comme avocate d’affaires internationale entre Paris et New-York. Elle décide de
tout arrêter pour se consacrer à la musique, intègre à Paris le CIM puis le Studio des Variétés.
Très vite, elle est invitée à collaborer comme chanteuse-auteur-compositeur par des groupes français
aussi variés que les Marathonians (“Come on boy, come on girl”, signé chez Warner et utilisé pour
une campagne publicitaire mondiale Peugeot), Marc Collin (producteur Nouvelle Vague, Les
Pétroleuses) et Funkaroma avant de former le groupe Sodex et sortir deux singles, devenus ensuite
des hits clubs. Son titre “Move me” a été repris sur des compilations en France et dans le monde
entier, ainsi que dans la BO du film “De battre mon cœur s’est arrêté”.
Margeaux Lampley s’oriente naturellement vers le Jazz. Elle se produit régulièrement sur la scène
parisienne, Sunset-Sunside Jazz Club, Petit Journal Montparnasse et dans les festivals comme
Enghien-les-Bains Jazz Festival. Elle s'entoure de musiciens talentueux comme les pianistes Olivier
Hutman et Manuel Rocheman, les contrebassistes Blaise Chevallier et Michel Rosciglione, les
batteurs Olivier Robin et Thierry Chauvet, le saxophoniste David Sauzay et le guitariste Olivier
Louvel. En 2008, elle propose un premier album Love for Sale, qui revisite les grands classiques de
jazz.
Pour son nouvel album Rain, Margeaux nous livre 9 compositions originales et trois reprises oscillant
entre jazz, pop, soul et musique latine. Le pianiste Olivier Hutman prend en charge la direction
artistique, les arrangements et de la réalisation de l’album. Avec ce deuxième opus Margeaux
Lampley nous invite à un voyage à la croisée des cultures.

Born in New York, Margeaux Lampley grew up in California, raised on gospel, jazz and soul music.
After receiving a law degree from Columbia University in New York, she left the US and an
international career in law to live the artist’s life in Paris, studying music with an emphasis on jazz at
the CIM music school and the Studio des Variétés.
Very quickly, she was invited to collaborate as a singer-songwriter for various French groups including
the Marathonians (“Come on girl, come on boy”, signed by Warner and used for a worldwide Peugeot
publicity campaign), Marc Collin (Nouvelle Vague, Les Pétroleuses producer) and Funkaroma before
forming the the group Sodex and releasing two popular club singles. Her song “Move Me”, was
featured on compilations in France and throughout various parts of the world, as well as on the
soundtrack of the film “De battre mon coeur s’est arrêté”.
Margeaux Lampley gravitated towards Jazz naturally. With her warm, intimate style, Margeaux is a
regular on the Paris jazz scene, Sunset-Sunside Jazz Club, Petit Journal Montparnasse, and
European festivals such as Enghien-les-bains Jazz Festival and is making a name for herself
throughout France and Europe. She is accompanied by talented musicians such as pianists Olivier
Hutman and Manuel Rocheman, double bass players Blaise Chevallier and Michel Rosciglione,
drummers Thierry Chauvet and Olivier Robin, saxophonist David Sauzay and guitarist Olivier Louvel.
In 2008, she proposed a first jazz album Love for Sale, which revisits the great jazz standards.
For her new album Rain, Margeaux delivers 9 original compositions and 3 covers, oscillating between
jazz, pop, soul and latin music. Pianist Olivier Hutman takes charge of the musical direction, the
arrangements and the production of the album. With this second opus, Margeaux Lampley invites us
on a cultural voyage.

Margeaux Lampley nació en New York pero creció en California y fue arrullada con en la música
Gospel, Jazz y Soul y finalmente descubre en Francia nuevos sonidos e ideas. Después de sus
estudios en derecho en la Universidad de Columbia en New York ella comienza su carrera como
abogada en asuntos internacionales entre París y New York. Finalmente ella decide de consagrarse
a la música y entra al conservatorio CIM en París y después al Studio des Variétés. Rápidamente es
invitada a colaborar como canta-autora y compositora en diversos grupos musicales franceses como
los Marathonians, dando como éxito el titulo “Come on boy, come on girl” (el cual fue utilizado en una
campana publicitaria mundial de Peugeot), Marc Collin Les Pétroleuses (productor de Nouvelle
Vague, Les Pétroleuses) y Funkaroma, antes de formar el grupo Sodex y sacar dos discos sencillos,
consagrándose como éxitos. El titulo “Move me” fue tomado en compilaciones tanto en Francia
como en el mundo entero, así como en el BO de la película “De battre mon coeur s’est arrêté”.
Margeaux se dirige hacia el Jazz y se produce regularmente en escenarios parisinos como SunsetSunside Jazz Club, Petit Journal Montparnasse y en festivales como Enghien-les-Bains Jazz Festival
rodeada por músicos talentosos como los pianistas Olivier Hutman y Manuel Rocheman, los
contrabajistas Blaise Chevallier y Michel Rosciglione, los bateristas Thierry Chauvet y Olivier Robin,
el saxofonista David Sauzay y el guitarrista Olivier Louvel. En el 2008 produce su primer álbum
como solista, “Love for sale” (Fuchsia/Codaex), en donde revisita los grandes clásicos de jazz. Para
su nuevo álbum Rain, Margeaux nos ofrece 9 composiciones originales y tres clásicos que oscilan
entre jazz, pop, soul y música latina. El pianista Olivier Hutman se hace cargo de la dirección
artística, los arreglos y la realización del álbum. Con este segundo opus Margeaux Lampley nos
invita a hacer un viaje músico-intercultural.
JAPANESE
ニューヨーク生まれ、カリフォルニア育ち。幼少の頃からゴスペル、ジャズ、ソウルミュージックに
囲まれて育つ。ニューヨーク、コロンビア大学で法律の学位を取得し国際弁護士として仕事を始める
も、心機一転。パリへ移住しCIMミュージックスクールとStudio des
Varietesにてジャズを学ぶ。その後Marathonians, Marc Collin (Nouvelle Vague, Les Pétroleuses),
Bang Bang,
Funkaroma等フランスの様々なアーティストのバッキングコーラスや作詞・作曲も務める。著作”Co
me on girl, come on
boy”は、プジョー車のPRキャンペーン曲に起用され世界的に注目を浴びる。またデュオ"Sodex”のメ
ンバーとしても精力的に活動し、2つのシングルをリリースする。代表曲である”Move
Me”は、映画De battre mon coeur s’est arrêtéのサウンドトラックとしてフィーチャーされる。
暖かく優しいスタイルを武器に、マルゴーはSunset-Sunside Jazz Club, Petit Journal
Montparnasse等パリのジャズシーンにて常連のアーティストとなる。Enghien-les-bains Jazz
Festival等、ヨーロッパの様々なジャズフェスティバルにも参加し、やがてフランスを中心にヨーロ
ッパ内で名声を得る。また、彼女のバンドも素晴らしいミュージシャン達が演奏している。ピアノに
Olivier HutmanとManuel Rocheman, ダブルベースにBlaise ChevallierとMichel Rosciglione,
ドラムにThierry Chauvet と Olivier Robin, テナーサックスとフルートにDavid Sauzay,

2008年に自身初となるジャズアルバムLove For
Saleをリリースし、そしてマルゴー本人が尊敬するElla Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billie
Holidayのスタンダードナンバーのオマージュともなっている。
今回のニューアルバム"Rain"にはマルゴーのオリジナル曲を9曲、スタンダード曲を3曲収録。ジャズ
、ポップ、ソウル、ラテンと、多彩なジャンルがミックスされたアルバムに仕上がっている。Anne
