SPANISH MINISTRY OF EDUCATION REGULATIONS REGARDING CONVALIDATION OF STUDENT'S US COURSES 9TH, 10TH, 11TH GRADES REQUIREMENTS CONCERNING SUBJECTS ELECTION: 1. The student must take a minimum of FOUR MANDATORY SUBJECTS 2. The four mandatory subjects must be chosen AMONG THOSE LISTED IN THE SQUARES OF THE ATTACHED SHEET 3. IT CANNOT BE CHOSEN MORE THAN ONE SUBJECT BELONGING THE SAME SQUARE 4. THE NAME OF THE SUBJECTS CHOSEN MUST EXACTLY COINCIDE WITH THOSE SUBJECTS LISTED INTO THE SQUARES OF THE ATTACHED SHEET. THE MINIMUM DIFFERENCE between the name of the subject chosen and the name of such subject listed in the attached Equivalence List WILL NOT ALLOW the student to convalidate. However, a name of a subject accompanied by an adjective indicating that the subject has been studied at a HIGHER LEVEL than normal will be considered valid (i.e.: "Honors", "Advance", "CP."). If the adjective indicates exactly the opposite (lower level than normal), the subject will NOT be accepted (i.e.: "introduction", "Pre...", "Basic...") 5. The four mandatory subjects have to be taken for two consecutive semesters (or three consecutive trimesters) but it is acceptable to chose new subjects for the second semester (or trimester) whenever the new subjects chosen BELONG TO THE SAME SQUARES OF THE SUBJECTS CHOSEN FOR THE FIRST SEMESTER. For example: 2 consecutive semesters of Algebra would be as valid as 1 semester of Algebra + 1 of Calculus; 3 consecutive trimesters of Biology would be as valid as 1 trimester of Biology + 1 trimester of Botany + 1 trimester of Geology. REQUIREMENTS CONCERNING GRADE LEVEL: 1. THE STUDENT MUST FOLLOW THE SAME GRADE THAN THE ONE IN WHICH THE STUDENT BELONGS IN SPAIN. EQUIVALENCY OF GRADE LEVELS: 9th Grade = 10th Grade = 11th Grade = 3º ESO 4º ESO 1º BACH 2. THE STUDENT SHOULD ALSO ONLY TAKE SUBJECTS BELONGING TO SUCH GRADE CLARIFICATION: If he is enrolled in the US in a grade lower than the one in which he belongs, or takes any subject from a lower grade, he will NOT convalidate and will not receive credit for the year OTHER REQUIREMENT: THE STUDENT MUST PASS ALL SUBJECTS CHOSEN. Important notes: ⇒ The student must pass not only the four minimum mandatory subjects but also the elective subjects ⇒ The student must pass all the subjects both in the first semester and in second one. ⇒ PASS / FAIL grades are not valid CONVALIDACIÓN ESO / 1º BACHILLER HISTORY WORLD HISTORY U.S. HISTORY AMERICAN HISTORY U.S. HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY WORLD HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY GOVERMENT CURRENT ISSUES AMERICAN STUDIES WORLD STUDIES ECONOMICS (Ver *NOTA a pie de página) GEOGRAPHY PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY SOCIAL GEOGRAPHY PHILOSOPHY PSYCOLOGY SOCIOLOGY ANTHROPOLOGY ETHICS MAN MEASURE LIFE SCIENCE ASTRONOMY OCEANOGRAPHY NATURAL RESOURCES BOTANY ZOOLOGY MARINE SCIENCE GEOLOGY AND ASTRONOMY METEOROLOGY BIOLOGY LAB.
