A. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Since December 2010: Member of the Interuniversity Institute of Social Development
and Peace (IUDESP), Universitat Jaume I, Castellón, Spain.
Since October 2009: Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic (SADR) to Ethiopia and
Permanent Representative to the African Union, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
June 2007 to March 2008: Member of the negotiating delegation of the Frente
POLISARIO in the UN-supervised negotiations with Morocco on the future of Western
Sahara.
Since October 2003: Visiting researcher of the UNESCO Chair of Philosophy for
Peace, Universitat Jaume I, Castellón, Spain.
Since September 1996: Member of the Diplomatic Service of the Sahrawi Republic
(SADR) and the Frente POLISARIO with diplomatic postings and missions in Africa
Asia, Europe and at the United Nations.
From September 1991 to May 1996: Member of the Department of Political Affairs
and Information of the Sahrawi Commission for the Referendum in charge of coordination with the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO).
B. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
May 2006: European Doctorate (designation: cum laude with unanimity) from
Universitat Jaume I, Castellón, Spain, with a dissertation entitled: “Los Estudios Postcoloniales: Hacia un Nuevo Proyecto para la Crítica y Transformación Cultural”
(Post-Colonial Studies: Towards a New Project for Cultural Critique and
Transformation).
The dissertation was awarded the PhD Extraordinary Award (Premio Extraordinario de
Doctorado) by Universitat Jaume I, Castellón, Spain, for the academic year 2006-2007.
December 2003: Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in “Peace, Conflict and Democracy”
from Universitat Jaume I, Castellón, Spain.
