School Year 2016 - 2017
Dear Parents/ Guardians:
Henry B. Gonzalez will have the Pre-Kindergarten Round Up for the 2016-2017 school-year. Your child may
qualify if they meet the following criteria:
Eligibility Requirements for the Dallas ISD Pre-K Program



Child must be 3 by or on September 1st, 2016to be admitted to the PreK program for 3 year olds.
Child must be 4 by or on September 1st, 2016 to be admitted to the PreK program for 4 year olds.
Live within the boundaries of the Dallas Independent School District
And meet at least one of the following criteria:




Be unable to speak and comprehend the English language or
Be educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program[NSLP];or
Homeless; or
Be the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States who is ordered to active
duty by proper authority or be the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States who was
injured or killed while serving on active duty; or
Have ever been in the conservatorship or the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DEPS)
(foster care) following an adversary hearing.

The Roundup week-long event will be for PreK3 and PreK4 only Monday – Friday, April 4 - 8, 2016 from 9:00
a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the door on the west side of the building. Kindergarten registration will begin on Thursday,
April 7th in the registrar’s office.
You will need to bring ALL the documents below (NO EXCEPTIONS!!):

Birth Certificate
Social Security (optional)
Immunizations (Must be up to date)
Proof of Residence (one of the following, water bill, gas bill, electricity bill, or lease of contract)
Valid picture ID of parent or guardian
Current pay stub or employer letter verifying employment and wages on company letterhead
(will be re-verified in July 2016)
REMINDERS
 Children will be pre-registered on a “first come-first serve” basis!
 We WILL NOT receive incomplete documentation or vaccinations!!
 Submitting an application does not guarantee that your child qualifies for
the program.
 All children who attend the PreK3 program will attend the PreK4 program the
following year and will not be promoted to Kindergarten.
 We will have 2 classes for our 3-year old students and will be half day
sessions (A.M and P.M) with a limit of 18 students per class.
 We will have 2 PreK4 classrooms and will continue to be full day classes with
a limit of 24 students per classroom.

La escuela Henry B. Gonzalez tendrá el programa de pre-inscripciones de Pre-K para el próximo año de 2016-2017.
Su hijo/a podrá participar en el programa si cumple con los siguientes requisitos:
Requisitos de elegibilidad para el programa de Pre-K de Dallas ISD



Su hijo/a tiene que tener tres años cumplidos en o antes del 1ro de septiembre del 2016 para ser admitido al
programa de niños de 3 años.
Su hijo/a tiene que tener cuatro años cumplidos en o antes del 1ro de septiembre del 2016 para ser admitido
al programa de niños de 4 años; y
Vive en la zona escolar del Distrito Escolar Independiente de Dallas
Y cumple con por lo menos uno de los siguientes requisitos:





No pueden hablar o entender el idioma del Inglés; o
Sean elegibles para almuerzo gratuito o precio reducido; o
Estén recibiendo servicios para desamparados; o
Sean hijos de un miembro activo del servicio militar estadounidense o sean hijos de un miembro dado de
baja o herido mientras servía como miembro activo; o
Han estado o estén en la custodia temporal de estado.
La fecha de pre-inscripciones para los programas de PreK3 y PreK4 será los días lunes – viernes, 4 al 8 de abril
desde las 9:00 a.m. a las 2:30 p.m. por la puerta oeste del edificio. La inscripción para Kindergarten será a partir
del 7 de abril en la oficina de inscripciones.
Debe de traer TODOS los siguientes documentos (¡SIN EXCEPCIONES!):

Vacunas (Debe de estar al día)
Prueba de residencia (una de las siguientes, recibo de luz, recibo de agua, recibo de gas, o
contrato de arrendamiento)

6. Talón de pago actual o una carta del empleador verificando el empleo y el salario en el
membrete de la empresa (se verificara una vez más en julio de 2016)







¡Los primeros en llegar serán los primeros en matricularse!
No se aceptaran aplicaciones ni vacunas incompletas
Someter una aplicación no califica a su hijo/a automáticamente para PreK.
Todos los niños que atiendan el programa de PreK3 atenderán el programa de
PreK4 el siguiente año y no serán promovidos a Kindergarten.
Tendremos 2 clases para nuestros niños de 3 años y serán sesiones de medio
día (A.M y P.M) con un límite de 18 estudiantes por clase.
Tendremos 2 salones de PreK4 y continuaremos con clases de día completo
con un límite de 24 estudiantes por salón.
