SYNOPSIS
Our five senses reflect our personality
Our five senses reflect our personality
The adventure of seeing new things, to smell thousands of aromas surrounding us every single day,
we hear music and feel inspired by its suggestive chords, hold tightly the person we love,
have the fortune of trying new flavours...
Some people live with these five senses without really valuing their importance in our lives.
Why a piece of music can move us so much? Why smells remind us of almost forgotten memories?
Why an image captures us or forces us to close our eyes? Why is it so intense the necessity to hold on a dear person?
I have been guided by the memories, needs and feelings which seize me.
This show has been created for a simple reason, to share with the audience the inspiration of my five senses.

BIOGRAPHY
Selene Muñoz: Nominated for “Best Dancer of the Year” in the prestigious danish award “Reumert” 2012. She obtained
the prize for the best scenic image (Premio Fotoescena) for her choreography “La Chaconera” in the spanish choreography
competition “Certamen Coreográfico de Danza Española y Flamenco”.
Selene has given workshops around Europe and in Asia, and she has given master classes to dancers from “Cirque Du Soleil” and the Royal Danish Ballet. Among the places where Selene has danced are: the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid, the
WORLD EXPO in Shanghai, the Caja Madrid Festival, the National Critics Awards (Entrega de los Premios Nacionales
de la Crítica)”Flamenco hoy”, “Young Flamencos” (Sangre Nueva, Jovenes Flamencos) at the theatres Teatro Español and
Teatro Madrid, the Flamenco Festival Ciutat Vella, the III Flamenco Festival of Parla as “outstanding dancer”, the London
Flamenco Festival, the Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London, “Moods”in Zurich, the Copenhagen Jazzhouse, Base Camp and
Tivoli gardens in Denmark…
In 2008 Selene´s performance “With The 5 Senses” (Con Los 5 Sentidos) premiered in “La Otra Mirada del Flamenco” as
part of the Veranos de la Villa programme. In 2010 Selene introduced her new production “Love Letters” (Cartas de amor)
at the International Dance Festival “Madrid en Danza”. Selene collaborated as choreographer and principal dancer in Alexander Kølpin´s Summerballet in 2011 and in 2012 at the Bellevue Theatre in Denmark. And she participated in the Dressed
To Dance exhibition as a principal dancer and model at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, as part of the Flamenco
Festival U.S.A…

SIGHT
La Chaconera (J.S. Bach)
Cast: José Luis Montón, María Berasarte and Selene Muñoz
Through the eyes, the mind is opened to the beauty of the world. This incredible piece was written by J.S. Bach during Baroque’s
time and in memory of his deceased wife, Maria Barbara Bach. It is a unique piece, which has survived hundreds of years thanks
to its great brilliance.
HEARING
Farruca Nubes (José Luis Montón)

Listen to guitar’s tunes, underscored with the rhythms of the feet and convert the music in another language that seems to be more suggestive. Appreciate the music, feel the emotions that get held in the organs of the body, open your mind and let your imagination flow.
SMELL

In memory of my father, Manuel Muñoz Méndez, who died when I was 6 years. He was a great admirer of his city, Seville, and its customs. The streets of Seville smell the orange blossom scent. Odors instantly connect us with the memory; the aroma evokes childhood
environments, places visited or the people most loved.
TOUCH
Fado de invierno (Lucas Álvarez)

The Desire to host another person within oneself, and the aspiration to touch him and walk with him hand in hand to avoid the feeling of
loneliness. ¿What if the person you loved is gone and you stay single and everything became memory? The feelings you shared with him
will always remain in your memory. Your will always carry this person with you in the blood, in the body, as an air walking through your
veins. You will always keep his image inside you, you can always hear his voice and feel that he is supporting you.
TASTE

Sour, bitter, sweet and salty are the four flavors. The human being is capable of perceiving and combining a wide range of flavors.
The taste is related to the other senses. Things have a good taste when seen, heard, smelt and touched. Taste, as a sense, drives one
to happiness.
