Todos los inspectores de la ITF desean transmitir su más sentido pésame a la familia de
Enrique Fossoul por su fallecimiento.
Dear Members of the ETF Management Committee,
Dear Colleagues,
It is my saddest duty to inform you that we have received today the information that our
colleague Enrique Fossoul de la Sierra, member of the ETF Management Committee and,
until last Friday, General Secretary of FSC-CCOO, did not resist the second operation he
was submitted to this Monday. More than a colleague, Enrique has been a personal friend
and a tireless defender of the ETF, transport workers and workers’ solidarity.
Tomorrow we will inform all affiliates and will provide further information when available.
Through Fátima Aguado, I want to express on your behalf and the whole ETF Secretariat
our deepest condolences to his family and his colleagues. It has been an honour to work
with him and to count on his support in the last ten years.
Sincerely yours
Eduardo Chagas

Dear Eduardo,
It is an unbearable, awful news...
After Bob and Adelle, wasn't it enough sorrow in our family for this year...
Thank you for expressing the deepest condolences for all of us, to the family and
colleagues of Enrique, knowing how difficult it would have been for you personally!
We lost a colleague and a friend, a great person with a big heart and in the ETF leadership
his absence will be felt for long...
With respect,
Ekaterina Yordanova

Enrique Fossoul
12 June 1954 to 1 December 2014
The ITF is saddened by the death of Enrique Fossoul, leading Spanish trade
unionist and member of the management committee of the ETF.
Enrique Fossoul was one of the public faces of Comisiones Obreras, (CC.OO) –
Spain’s largest trade union – including in the crucial period following the end of
the country’s military dictatorship following Franco’s death. Fossoul dedicated
38 years of his life to the union, rising to become FSC-CC.OO general secretary
in 2004. His death came just days after he gave up the post due to ill health.
Eduardo Chagas, ETF general secretary, remembered Enrique as, “More than
a colleague. Enrique was a personal friend and a tireless defender of the ETF,
of transport workers and of workers’ solidarity.”
He continued: “I want to express on behalf of the whole ETF our deepest
condolences to his family and his colleagues. It has been an honour to work
with Enrique and to count on his support in the last ten years.”
ITF general secretary Steve Cotton added: “This is very sad news. Enrique was
a man of passion, vision and a true internationalist. He was totally committed to
defend workers’ rights not only in Europe but also on the global level.
“He will be sorely missed in the fight to defend the workers' rights and their
voice in an ever changing world.”

contemplativas e inteligentes. Una persona y un sindicalista verdaderamente
ejemplar. Le echaremos de menos. Un abrazo, Sarah
