Autora: Elena Gomez Godoy Diplomada Superior Escuela Oficial de Idiomas a. If you had a letter from your favourite artist, what would you do with it? Give reasons. Almost everybody has sometimes experimented a passion for an artist, such as actors, singers, sport men or women, football players.... This kind of feeling appears basically when we are adolescents but it can last through the whole life. In this way, one of the most exciting moments for a fan is when you get something directly from your idol, such a letter. On these exceptional occasions I would feel absolutely excited and very lucky. That is why, at the first moment I may not know how react. But later, I consider that I would be very happy showing the letter to my best friends and my family, so I can share with them my emotion. Also I would contact my fan club and share the letter my idol has sent to me, with the rest of fans of my quarter or my town. At the end, I am sure I would try to keep the letter together with all my personal things through the years, so it was always my special treasure, and I could show it to my children in the future. b. What do you think of the fans´attitude towards famous people? Discuss. Nowadays we all can see on the media such as TV programmes, radio or even Internet the activities of many fan clubs which follow their idols all over the world, in concerts, when they are presenting a film, in football matches.... But I believe that the fans´s attitude towards famous people has advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, I consider that fans give always a lot of support and admiration to artists. In this way, they feel themselves loved and famous and they can keep on working and doing it better each day. For an artist, it is very important to know that his or her work is appreciated and that the audience (el público) like what they do. On the other hand, this attitude of love can become an obsession an it could be very harmful for the artist. So, some fans do not respect the idol’s private life, affecting also to families and artist’s feelings. In general, I think that illusion should not be mixed with obsession so the best idea is that everyone has an artist inside!. Autora: Elena Gomez Godoy Diplomada Superior Escuela Oficial de Idiomas
