Felix Gonzalez Herranz is a Young Professional in the Institutional Capacity of the State
Division of the Inter-American Development Bank, where he is the Technical and Strategic lead
of the Broadband Program. This program aims at fostering access, adoption and usage of
broadband across Latin-America and The Caribbean. Felix has more than four years of
experience in the telecom sector where he has worked in different domains and countries at
institutions such as The World Bank, France Telecom, Telefonica, and Capgemini. He is also a
social entrepreneur who launched a philanthropic initiative, Juntosalimos, in Spain, his home
country. Felix holds bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and in computer science from
Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (Spain) and TELECOM ParisTech (France) and a master’s
degree in Management of Science and Engineering from Stanford University, where he studied
on a Fulbright scholarship.
Félix González Herranz es un Young Professional en la División de Capacidad Institucional del
Estado del Banco Inter-Americano de Desarrollo, donde es el líder Técnico-Estratégico del
Programa de Banda Ancha, programa que tiene por objetivo fomentar el acceso, la adopción y el
uso de la Banda Ancha en América Latina y el Caribe. Félix tiene más de cuatro años de
experiencia en el sector de las telecomunicaciones, en distintos países y áreas de especialización,
habiendo
trabajado para el Banco Mundial, France Telecom, Telefónica y Capgemini. Es
también un emprendedor social que fundó una iniciativa filantrópica, Juntosalimos, en España,
su país de origen. Félix es ingeniero de telecomunicación por la Universidad Politécnica de
Madrid (España) y por TELECOM ParisTech (Francia) y tiene un master en Management of
Science and Engineering por la Universidad de Stanford, donde estudió con una beca Fulbright.
