Crossroads Celebrates
“Character Counts!” Week and Red Ribbon Week
October 19-23
Monday: I will think about the choices I make
daily and be responsible by saying no to drugs!
Wear your favorite cap and the RESPONSIBLE
pillar color green. Your teacher will provide you with
a red ribbon to wear today and red ribbons to tie
around a pole outside your classroom or door.
Tuesday: I will respect my body by running
away from drugs!
Wear your exercise or running clothes, and the
pillar color yellow for RESPECT to show you
respect your body and will always run away from
drugs. Also show RESPECT by following the
Golden Rule today: Treat others the way you would
like to be treated.
Wednesday: I care, and I can make a difference!
Students may wear their Race Day shirts to show
we all belong to a team of very caring students and
teachers. Think about ways you may demonstrate
caring for others throughout the day.
Thursday: I am trustworthy! I will make sure
adults know where I am so I remain safe
throughout the school day or weekends.
We will wear red to show our support of police
officers, firefighters, and community leaders, who
all contribute to our standard of living in West Des
Moines Community.
Friday: I believe in being a good student and
good citizenship! We will show citizenship
today by teaming up against drugs!
We will wear our favorite team’s colors of orange
and black to show we support our school
community and conduct ourselves as good citizens
by attending Crossroads Park Elementary School!

“¡El carácter Cuenta!” Semana del Listón Rojo
Octubre 19-23
Lunes: ¡Pensaré sobre las decisiones que hago
diariamente y seré responsable diciéndole no a
las drogas!
Ponte tu gorra favorita y el color verde del pilar de
RESPONSABILIDAD. Tu maestro/a te
proporcionará un listón rojo para ponerte hoy y
cintas rojas para poner alrededor de un poste fuera
de tu salón o puerta.
Martes: ¡Respetaré mi cuerpo huyendo de las
drogas!
Ponte ropa de hacer ejercicio o correr, y el color
amarillo del pilar de RESPETO para mostrar que
respetas tu cuerpo y siempre vas a huir de las
drogas. También muestra RESPETO siguiendo la
regla de oro hoy: Trata a los otros como deseas
que te traten a ti.
Miércoles: ¡Tengo bondad, y puedo hacer una
diferencia!
Los estudiantes se pueden poner sus playeras del
Día de Carreras para mostrar que pertenecen a un
equipo de estudiantes y maestros bondadoso.
Piensa en maneras en las que puedes mostrar
bondad por otros durante el día.
Jueves: ¡Soy confiable! Aseguraré que los
adultos sepan dónde estoy durante el día para
estar seguro durante el día escolar y los fines
de semana.
Nos vamos a poner rojo para mostrar nuestro
apoyo de los policías, bomberos, y líderes de la
comunidad, quienes contribuyen a nuestra calidad
de vida en la Comunidad de West Des Moines.
Viernes: ¡Creo en ser un buen estudiante y
buen ciudadano/a! ¡Mostraré buena ciudadanía
luchando en contra de las drogas!
¡Nos vamos a poner los colores de nuestro equipo
favorito, anaranjado y negro, para mostrar que
apoyamos nuestra comunidad escolar y nos
comportaremos como buenos ciudadanos
asistiendo a la Escuela Primaria Crossroads Park!
