Hatch Elementary School gets a New
Principal for the Day
On March 1st, I had the fun pleasure of being
Hatch Elementary School’s Principal for the Day! It
was the perfect way to connect with businesses and
community leaders for a few hours once a year. I
even got my very own “Principal Parking” parking
spot!
I was welcomed by Principal Jim Ward who provided introductions to his office staff and faculty, the
hundreds of children ranging from kindergarteners
to fifth graders at early morning recess, and toured
the classrooms, including the very popular TwoWay Spanish/English Immersion Program.

Spanish Interpretation is now available at City Council Meetings
For those members of the Half Moon Bay community who are more comfortable interacting with
the City in Spanish, simultaneous live interpretation during most Half Moon Bay City Council
meetings is now available.
The City has a headphone/transmitting system and brings in an interpreter who will speak into
a microphone, interpreting the proceedings of the meeting into Spanish, to be heard by those
members of the audience wearing the headphones. At the meetings, community members need
only request the headphones in order to hear the meeting in Spanish. The interpreter will be
available at the beginning of the meeting. If no one requests the service then the interpreter
will not stay for the entire meeting.

Rain is on the Way … Be Ready!

spaces. Learn how to use sandbags to help protect
your home or business from flood waters.

Johnston House, 110 Higgins Canyon Road
(Nota: las direcciones arriba mencionadas son
