Just These Lines My Friends….
To say that summer is here, it’s hot outside, and we are gearing up for another
great year of Vacation Bible School! Our staff ministry team and all of our Ramsey servants are looking forward to having our Ramsey kids and youth, as well as kids from our
surrounding neighborhood, all come out for a great time of learning and fun. How good
it will be to share the ‘good news’ of Jesus with all of God’s children. We are making
plans for our second bilingual VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL July 27- 31st. Our theme
this year is FUN RUN. We will be running the faith race with Apostle Paul and his
young friend Timothy. VBS will take place all around the church facilities and grounds
with great stops along the wayJesus is the Light of the World
Jesus is the Good Shepherd
Every week we keep track of the changing worship attendance patterns in our
three services. This is a chart comparing this year with last year, showing
that our overall worship attendance has
increased from 2014. In particular, our
Hispanic service has doubled with the
addition of new children and families.
In 2014, our year end attendance average was 157, this year as of June 21st
our worship average is 168.

nuestras plegarias. ¡Gloria y honra sean a nuestro Dios!
(as).
Como siempre su servidora en Cristo,
Pastora, Norma

PickleBall
PickleBall is a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It’s easy to learn for beginners
and can eventually develop into a quick, fast-paced competitive game for experienced players.
There are over 250,000 players enjoying the PickleBall sport around the country. Seniors, in
particular, love this sport since the court is ¼ the size of a tennis court(less space to cover) , so
it’s easier on the body. PickleBall is great for health and fitness, by promoting: balance, handeye coordination, stretching, bending, and endurance. And it’s so much fun, promoting camaraderie among players! Come join the fun on Wednesdays at 10:00AM in the CLC.
Children’s Ministry
Wouldn’t you like to help with our Children’s Ministry on Sundays at 11:00AM
until 12:15PM? There are at least four adults every week involved in that ministry
and we need more – we need you! We need adults who are wiling to be extra
hands and be present with the children. You don’t need to do anything but be here.
If you are interested, please call Sue Newman at the church office (804-276-4628)
or email at snewman@ramseymemorial.org. God has blessed us with children and we need to
share ourselves with them and teach them about our Savior, Jesus Christ.
We will host the CARITAS men’s group October 10 -17, 2105
It is not too soon to begin thinking about what we will need for our week. We will provide 50+
toiletry kits, 275 meals, 60 loads of laundry and nightly lodging of 275 beds for the week. A list
of paper products and non perishables needed for the week will be on the Mission board by July
1. Here are some items you can start saving for CARITAS now - soaps, shampoo and conditioner travel sizes, lotion (travel size) toothpaste and toothbrushes, razors and pillows. The CARITAS organization will provide sheets, blankets and pillows; however, each guest would like an
additional pillow. Frankly, some of the pillows provided will need to be discarded. We can provide extras and replace others.
When the decision was made to host CARITAS once a year, all food items that could not be kept
for the 15 months between our weeks, were donated to:
1) Food Pantry 2) Communion Committee 3) Bible School and 4) Youth group. Please help us
restock the CARITAS food supplies. There will be signup sheets for food and paper products. Thanks for your help in this regard.
If you have never volunteered to work with this ministry, I invite you to join our CARITAS team.
Many hands make light work.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me
something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. Matthew 25:35
Joan McGowan
CARITAS team
Tendremos el grupo CARITAS octubre 10-17, 2105. Vamos a ofrecer 275 comidas y camas ,
There are times when the Finance committee must
make special requests for monies for particular
expenses of the Church. Several years ago, there
was a plea for a new furnace and in February of
this year we had a CLC celebration month to increase the Capital Fund balance for monthly mortgage payments. And the congregation always comes through!
Yet, there seems to be purchases made and improvements carried out that some folks wonder
about. Did we have the money for the new dishwasher and flooring in the Fellowship Hall
kitchen? How did we afford the new tables? And what about the awning over the back doorway to the CLC? When we seem to be struggling each month to pay our bills, how can we
afford these things?
These items are possible through generous donations by members (often anonymously) allocated to specific needs and wishes. They are in addition to regular contributions. There are
members of Ramsey, who see a need and offer to fill that need. The gift is evaluated by the
Trustees and, if accepted, the improvement or acquisition is made for all of us to share and
enjoy. What a blessing it is for Ramsey to have such caring, giving members!!
