PARISH HALL UPDATE – July 25, 2016

Final plans for the hall are scheduled to be submitted for building permit in mid
August for construction next year. Bids were just solicited for re-paving the parking lot
this fall, but were much more costly than had been anticipated, so the Pastoral & Finance
Councils decided to forgo doing that work this year. After receiving high bids for the
parking lot and reviewing the high cost of a recent similar project (the Mammoth Lakes
Police Station with a design and construction cost of $581/sq. ft.), the Councils decided
to wait to bid all the work associated with the new hall as a complete project this fall/winter
for construction next spring (hopefully).
Our new parish hall must be built for $330/sq. ft. if it is to be done with money we
have on hand. It has become increasingly clear to many that the $1.639M we have for
the design and construction of our 4932 sq. ft. hall will probably not be enough.
We are looking for someone to spearhead one last fund-raising campaign for the
parish hall this next year. Please prayerfully consider this request to discern if God might
be asking you to be the person to do this much-needed work on behalf of our
parish. Remember, God often looks for the most humble to do his work...perhaps this is
you??
Also, three large Jeffrey pines in the area where the new parking lot is going will
be removed sometime in the next several weeks. The parking lot will be closed during
that time. Parking to access the church will be along Ranch Rd until all the debris is
removed.

Se presentó el plan final del salón parroquial para adquirir el permiso de edificación y ser
presentado a mediados de agosto para la construcción el próximo año. Las ofertas fueron
solicitadas sólo para pavimentar de nuevo el estacionamiento este otoño, sin embargo, fueron
mucho más costosas de lo que había sido esperado, por lo tanto, el Consejo de Finanzas y el
consejo Pastoral decidieron renunciar a hacer este trabajo durante este año. Después de revisar
ofertas altas por el estacionamiento y examinar el alto costo de un proyecto similar reciente
(Mammoth Lakes Police Station con un diseño y el costo de la construcción del $581/pies
cuadrados), los Consejos decidieron esperar a ofrecer todo el trabajo asociado con el nuevo salón

También, el estacionamiento estará serado durante el tiempo que tres pinos estarán siendo
cortados. El estacionamiento para tener acceso a la iglesia estará a lo largo de Ranch Rd hasta
que todos los pinos sean quitados.
