Terminology associated with travel
customs

the ticket or passage. The right to get on the

called boleto or billete.

enter a country.

avoid carro, an Anglicism, even though it is

to get or obtain (tickets, for example)
to leave behind. This is a common verb, but it is
included here because it is a common way to say
that one "missed" his or her ride or
transportation. Instead of saying Perdí el bus,
you can say Me dejó el bus.

to park (aparcar in Spain, parquear [a common
Anglicism] in Mexico and Central America)
to pack a suitcase (you can also use valija
instead of maleta)
