It is specifically focused to Public Address services where the geographical distribution for audio broadcasting is the main constraint. In this area, it offers the following advantages over equivalent analog solutions: • It does not need a specific communications infrastructure: the system can be easily integrated into a TCP / IP communications infrastructure, regardless of technology used (Ethernet, ATM, Wi­Fi, etc.). Then with a standard IP network (Multiservice IP network), it can provide any type of sound communication between the Service Center and the audio broadcasting point. • Different audio sources: because it is a based on VoIP and the “state of the art” in digital audio technology, the system supports live audio, pre­recorded audio and text­to­speech messages. • Open system: standard protocols are exclusively used for interconnecting every element of the system (SIP and Audio Streaming). • Analog platform independent: IG­VirtualVoice system is an independent element from analog stage (amplifiers and speakers) and it has standard audio interfaces, so any analog equipment manufacturer can be easily integrated. • Modular and scalable system, with high reliability and availability. It is an embedded server with the management application with additional features for platform control and management: • Equipment Inventory: all elements of the system (players and software clients) should be registered in GEME server and refresh it periodically. In this way, GEME server will know at all times with what equipment are available. • Registration of prerecorded and text­to­speech messages: GEME server records and maintain the master copy of prerecorded and text messages. Any change from an operator launchs a process for remotely update all the players. • Service Management: GEME server receives requests for message addressing from operators and is responsible for distributing them to the players, managing priority events and available resources. • Activity reports: GEME server receives requests from operators as well as activity reports form players, allowing to generate statistics from the platform. This information is stored in a logging database and it is available for querying. • Failure reports: GEME continuously receives information from players that report their own state, the managed audio amplifiers and speaker lines (if available) . This equipment supports the audio broadcasting features in the location: • Definition of multiple broadcasting zones: CRAYAMP has 3 independent audio outputs to connect the analog audio amplifiers, such as every one covers a certain area or zone, and therefore may be defined, managed and operated independently in the system when voice messages must to be broadcasted. • Broadcast Execution: CRAYAMP receives requests for audio broadcasting from GEME server and its priority, reporting the state, as well as at any time is able to inform to GEME about the it resources availability. • Audio decoding: CRAYAMP decodes the broadcasted live audio, pre­recorded and text to speech messages, translating them into analog audio so they can be processed to every amplifier connected to every audio output. • Analog Equipment Management: CRAYAMP can manage the external amplifier (if available) through several different methods (IP, serial, I/O relays, etc.). There is no limit for the amount of software clients in the infrastructure and it supports some types of interfacing methods: • CLAME Standard Client: Software application that can be remotely executed in batch mode and give access to system features. It is the best solution for integrate automated audio broadcasting features in a thrid­party application. • CLAME Standard Client with Audio: Software application with a complete human interface based on Windows, so it usually is installed in operator computers.
