Joan Frigolé is a social anthropologist who studies, among other things, the relationships between globalization and the production of locality in the Catalan Pyrenées. He has conducted ethnographic fieldwork in the Southern Spain (Murcia and Andalusia). Since 1989 he has taught social anthropology at University of Barcelona, and previously at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He is author of Un etnólogo en el teatro (1995); Un hombre.
