• In Spanish, as in English, direct objects describe who or what directly receives the
action of a verb. Direct object pronouns are often used to avoid repeating words in
conversation.

• Direct object pronouns are usually placed in front of a conjugated verb.

• If a conjugated verb is followed by an infinitive or present participle, the direct
object pronoun can also be attached to the end of the infinitive or participle.
