Gospel - Luke 12:49-53
Reading of the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Jesus said to his disciples:
“I have come to set the earth on fire,
and how I wish it were already blazing!
There is a baptism with which I must be baptized,
and how great is my anguish until it is accomplished!
Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth?
No, I tell you, but rather division.
From now on a household of five will be divided,
three against two and two against three;
a father will be divided against his son
and a son against his father,
a mother against her daughter
and a daughter against her mother,
a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law
and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”






Prayer to the Holy Spirit.
One person of the group reads the Gospel.
Each person in turn chooses an echo (a phrase that calls your attention or speaks to the heart).
Each person shares a story or an experience of why they chose that echo.
Each person makes a short prayer of promise (something practical you are going to do as a
result of reflecting on this Gospel.)

Lectura del santo evangelio según San Lucas
En aquel tiempo, Jesus dijo a sus discípulos: "He venido a traer fuego a la tierra, ¡y
cuanto desearía que ya estuviera ardiendo! Tengo que recibir un bautismo, ¡y como
me angustio mientras llega!
¿Piensan acaso que he venido a traer paz a la tierra? De ningun modo. No he venido
a traer la paz, sino la division. De aquí en adelante, de cinco que haya en una familia, estaran divididos tres contra dos y dos contra tres. Estara dividido el padre contra el hijo, el hijo contra el padre, la madre contra la hija y la hija contra la madre, la
suegra contra la nuera y la nuera contra la suegra".

Una persona del grupo lee el Evangelio.
Cada persona, tomo turno y elige un eco (una frase que llama su atención o habla al corazón).
Cada persona comparte una historia o una experiencia de por qué eligieron ese eco.
Cada persona hace una breve oración de promesa (algo práctico que se va a hacer como resultado de
reflexionar sobre este Evangelio.)
