 DAVID ALDERSON és professor titular en literatura anglesa a la Universitat de Manchester, Regne Unit, on fundà el Centre per a l’Estudi de Sexualitat i Cultura, i el programa de Gènere, Sexualitat i Cultura amb Laura Doan. Actualment, té dos projectes d’investigació en cultura post-­‐gay i en gènere i sexualitat com a categories mediadores per a la transició al neoliberalisme. Assajos recents inclouen estudis del dramaturg Mark Ravenhill (Textual Practice), Billy Elliot (pròximament: Camera Obscura) i les novel·∙les de Ian McEwan (Pròximament: The End of Empire and the English Novel, Manchester University Press). El seu treball està fortament compromès amb les tradicions crítiques socialistes i marxistes, i ha publicat un llibre sobre Terry Eagleton (Palgrave Macmillan, 2004). Recentment, ha ajudat a establir el fòrum anual bilateral en teoria literària i cultural marxista entre les universitats de Manchester i Shanghai Jiao Tong. DAVID ALDERSON is Senior Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Manchester and co-­‐founded, with Laura Doan, the Centre for the Study of Sexuality and Culture there, as well as the MA programme in Gender, Sexuality and Culture. At the moment, he has two related research projects. The first is on post-­‐gay culture, and the second is on gender and sexuality as mediating categories for the transition to neoliberalism. Recent papers include work on Mark Ravenhill (Textual Practice), Billy Elliot (forthcoming: Camera Obscura), and the novels of Ian McEwan (forthcoming: The End of Empire and the English Novel, Manchester University Press). All of this work is strongly committed to socialist and Marxist critical traditions, and he has published a book on Terry Eagleton (Palgrave Macmillan, 2004). Recently he helped to establish the annual bilateral forum on Marxist literary and cultural theory between Manchester and Shanghai Jiao Tong Universities, and in 2011 he will serve as Visiting Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
