Parents,
Nathan Adams is one of 11 schools selected to take part in Speeding
to Read for the 2015-2016 school year. Texas Motor Speedway
sponsors Speeding To Read to encourage and reward students for
reading.
Each K-5 student will keep a reading log listing the books they have
read for each of the 4 reading turns this school year. The first reading
turn covers September 9 through October 22. The goal for

Kindergarten, 1 , and 2 grade students is to read 25 picture books per turn. The goal for 3rd,
4th, and 5th grades is 6 chapter books per turn.
The first reading turn ends October 22 so the reading log is due on October 23. Please help
your child record the book titles on their reading log and return it promptly on October 23. You
will sign it to show that you have checked your child’s reading log for accuracy.

Students that reach the reading goal for their grade level
will be recognized as well the top class for grades K2nd and 3rd-5th. In addition our school will be

Speeding to Read (Acelerando para leer) para el ciclo escolar 20152016. Texas Motor Speedway patrocina Speeding To Read para animar
y premiar a los estudiantes por leer.
Cada estudiante de Kindergarten a 5º grado mantendrá un diario de
lectura registrando los libros que han leído para cada uno de los 4
turnos de lectura este año. El primer turno de lectura cubre del 9 de

octubre. Por favor ayude a su hijo(a) a registrar los títulos de los libros en su diario de lectura y
devuélvalo enseguida, el 23 de octubre. Usted lo firmará para mostrar que ha revisado el diario
de lectura de su hijo(a).
