Saturday February 22nd – First day of Night School Community Service 9am-2pm
REMINDERS

We’d like to thank all the parents that joined us at Semester One Report Card Pick Up. We had over 90% attendance! It is extremely
important for those parents who did not attend to come to the school as soon as possible. Night school starts Monday, February 3rd and
parents will need to see report cards to determine if night school classes are required. Students who do not make up failed classes in night
school will not be promoted.

Night School Registration was Wednesday, 1/29. If your child owes Night School credits and you have not registered him/her, you must do
so immediately. Late registrations will count as unexcused absences. A late registration fee of $25 is now applied.

All academic and PE Night School classes begin the week of Monday 2/3. The first Community Service Night School class is February 22nd
9am-2pm.

Your child’s first progress report for 2nd semester is attached to this newsletter. Academic Intervention Programming will not begin until Week
5 of the second semester.

We're excited to invite our High Honor and Honor Roll students with their parents to a special ceremony on February 12th at 6pm (High
Honors) or February 13th (Honors) at 6pm in celebration of their 1st Semester achievements. Students will be get their invitations at Report
Card Pick Up and be given their certificates and pins at the ceremony.

On Friday 1/31, freshmen and sophomores will be taking the mid-year Explore and Plan. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. Juniors will have a
regular school day. 9-11th STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED AT 1PM. On January 31st, seniors will be meeting their senior teachers at Harold
Washington Library downtown from 9:30-1:30 for research on their Senior Project. (400 S State St.) Seniors will be responsible for getting to
the library on their own (through public transportation or a ride from family member). They will have a 20 min. appointment with their Senior
Mentor, and can use the rest of the time to research their paper. The Senior Project is a semester long project and will result in a 12-15 page
research paper and presentation.
Fechas Importantes

Viernes 31 de enero- serán los exámenes explore de medio año los estudiantes saldrán a la 1pm. Estudiantes en cuarto grado tendrán un paseo a
la biblioteca.

Lunes 3 de febrero- será el primer día de clases en la tarde.

Viernes 7 de febrero- no habrá clases (paseo de snowball y de Jazz Band).

Viernes 14 de febrero- SI habrá clases. Disculpe por el error en el calendario.

Miércoles 12 de febrero habrá una ceremonia del primer semestre para Honores altos a las 6pm.

Jueves 13 de febrero habrá una ceremonia del primer semestre para Honores a las 6pm.

Lunes 17 de febrero NO HABRA CLASES (Día de los presidentes).

Sábado 22 de febrero- Primera clase de horas comunitaria de 9am-2pm.
Recordatorios:

Nos gustaría agradecer a todos los padres que nos acompañaron en la distribución de boletas del primer semestre. Es muy importante para
aquellos padres que no asistieron a venir a la escuela tan pronto como sea posible. Escuela nocturna comienza el lunes, 3 de febrero y los
padres tendrán que ver las boletas para determinar si el estudiante necesita tomar algunas clases de noche. Estudiantes que no se registren
y no tomen las clases reprobadas No serán promovidos.

Registro de clases de noche fue el martes 29 de enero. Si su hijo debe tomar alguna clase y aun no ah sido registrado, debe hacerlo antes del
7 de enero. Ahora se aplica un cargo de inscripción de $25.

Todas las clases académicas de educación física escolares de noche comienzan la semana del lunes 3 de febrero. La primera clase de servicio
de la Comunidad Escolar de noche es 22 de febrero 9am-2pm.

El primer reporte de progreso del 2 semestre se encuentra en la parte posterior del boletín de noticias. Segundo semestre AIP comenzará el
25 de febrero.

"Estamos muy contentos de invitar a nuestros estudiantes y padres a una ceremonia que tendremos para lo logros de primer semestre la
ceremonia será de (honores altos) recibirán un certificado y un pin, esto se llevara acabo el 12 de febrero y el 13 será para (honores) a las 6
pm. Los estudiantes recibirán una invitación el día de boletas.

El viernes 31 de enero estudiantes de primero y segundo año escolar tendrán exámenes de medio año escolar Explore y Plan. ASISTENCIA ES
OBLIGATORIA. Estudiantes en tercero y cuarto grado tendrán clases regulares. Estudiantes de primero a tercer grado saldrán a la 1pm.
Estudiantes en cuarto año se reunirán con sus asesores en la biblioteca del centro Harold Washington de 9:30am-1:30pm. (400 S. State St)
Estudiantes serán responsables de llegar a la biblioteca en su propio (a través de transporte público o un paseo de miembro de la familia).
Tendrán una cita de 20 min. con su mentor puede utilizar el resto del tiempo para revisar su papel. El Senior Project es un proyecto largo
semestre y dará lugar a un trabajo de investigación de 12-15 página y presentación.

