We work hard to make the best deals possible and provide energy solutions for our customers. Right now, we’re looking for an experienced engineer to join our Offshore Technical Support department. Here, your core responsibility will be reviewing and assessing the performance of our existing wind turbine foundation structures and supporting with the implementation of our fleet-wide asset integrity strategy. You’ll need to analyse relevant structural monitoring data on a regular basis. Another key part of the role will be to support the development of new foundation structures for offshore wind turbines. You’ll also support the development of cost-effective solutions for larger, deep-water turbines. Crucially, you’ll ensure that all lessons learned from our existing fleet are incorporated into our new developments. In the longer term, you’ll look for ways to improve the cost performance of our wind farms, often undertaking research and reviewing new developments in technology. It’s essential that for all improvements, you take into account the implications for the fabrication, transportation and installation of our wind turbines – particularly bearing in mind our preference for onshore prefabrication. Finally, you’ll also work closely with internal stakeholders and external design houses and fabricators to standardise our overall approach to technical pre-qualification and specification. Qualifications Essential skill requirements: Educated to degree level in civil or structural engineering, or equivalent experience. Relevant experience of engineering design, plant construction and contract and consultancy management – ideally relating to offshore wind farms. Relevant experience in civil engineering and structural design, plant construction, technical, contract and consultancy management, ideally including renewable technologies of offshore wind, with experience in: Design calculations, structural modelling and dynamic loading of offshore structures Design life re-assessment Concept design calculations and reporting geotechnical assessments and foundation installation. Desirable skills: Member of a professional engineering body. Proven experience supporting renewable construction projects. The drive and motivation to meet time, cost and quality targets. Demonstrable experience of working effectively in an international business.
