My adventure weekend By Daniel Page Hi, I’m Daniel. Welcome to my blog! I’m at a camp in Wales, near Snowdonia. Day 1: Saturday We arrived here last night and got up early today. After breakfast, we cycled to the mountains. The path was very high and after an hour I was really tired. We stopped for a rest at the top. Suddenly, a big mountain goat appeared right in front of us. We jumped on our bikes and cycled back to camp as fast as possible! After lunch, we went canoeing on the lake. There were three of us in my canoe. We weren’t very good at canoeing at the start. But in the end, we learnt to paddle in the right direction and work together. Then, Nick saw a big bird and he wanted to take a photo of it. He moved quickly to get his camera. Suddenly, he fell in the water! Tom and I wanted to help him, but the canoe turned over and then all three of us were in the water. It was very cold! Luckily, we were near the camp so it was easy to swim back. When we arrived, we were very wet and muddy! Now we’re resting and I’m writing this blog. Tomorrow, we’re going rock climbing. It attacks animals bigger than itself, including humans! People believe that drop bears attack more tourists than native Australians, so perhaps this scary animal was invented to keep out strangers. true 1 The drop bear looks like a koala. _________________ 2 It’s much smaller than a dog. _________________ 3 It has only got two teeth. _________________ 4 It’s a very fierce animal. _________________ 5 Drop bears live high up in the trees. _________________ PH 6 The drop bear is a real animal. _________________ B IA OP OC OT LE High Five! 5 © Macmillan Publishers Limited 2015 10 Page 2 Unit 5 Test High Five! 5 Standard level Name: Class: Writing 5 Read and write. Many artists have made sculptures, statues or other works of art out of recycled materials such as plastic bottles and bags. Other artists have used pieces of recycled metal to build sculptures like a huge fish. Useful things are also produced from recycled rubbish, things that are functional. Items of furniture for the house are made from recycled metal, wood or cardboard. How about a chair which is made from metal tubes? It may not be very comfortable, but it’s very green.
