Festival etiquette: some dos and don’ts Before you set off on your travels, remember, most festivals involve camping. As they mainly take place during the glorious British summer, take it from us, you should prepare yourself for the worst! They range from learning to be a DJ to art, fashion design and cooking. The festival takes place annually over a four-day period in July in Henham Park, Suffolk. Edinburgh Festival Fringe: the ultimate arts and entertainment experience Established in 1947 as an alternative to the main festival, the Fringe takes place over three weeks in August and is the biggest – and many would say the best – arts festival in the world. There are weird and wonderful shows by thousands of different artists – established names, newcomers, and total amateurs 1st BATX looking to make a good impression on audiences and hoping that they will get spotted by TV talent scouts. Theatre, comedy, dance, circus, cabaret, children's shows, musicals, opera, music, poetry and art exhibitions are all available to see. Somersault: food and fun in Devon This is the newest addition to the festival scene and will appeal to sports enthusiasts and anyone who loves food and the outdoors. It takes place in North Devon over five days in July. There’s music, theatre, circus acts and lots of mouth-watering food. What makes this festival unique is that there are excursions and trips to the seaside. Activities include horse-riding on the beach, mountain biking and surfing.
