Greeting and Introduction
Good day chairperson, opposition and audience.
we are in an environment where the internet is our awakening, where you can reach any
part of the world with just a search, this is where we find social networks, but what are
social networks? according to the real spanish academy says: “Information society service
that offers users a communication platform through the Internet so that they can generate
a profile with their personal data, facilitating the creation of communities based on
common criteria and allowing the communication of its users, so that they can interact
through messages, share information, images or videos, allowing these publications to be
immediately accessible by all the users in their group.”
The topic for today's debate is that : Are social networking sites useful or harmful to
people?
Explained the definition of social networks, this is where you will find my points of view of
how favorable social networks can be for people.
Outline your team's case:
a) Your points: socialization
I will be speaking about how people can easily establish communication and socialization
with social networks.
● in social networks they can see themselves more identified with certain types of group
identity or make them belong to a group with only similarities that each person can have.
● interaction and socialization in people can be more effective, taking into account the above,
they can find common themes and start a conversation.
● they can also express themselves, promoting dialogue and interactivity in the public
without breaking with other spaces.
b) Second speaker's points: Disadvantages
Our second speaker will be talking about access to information, how quickly and easily
information can be accessed.
● As you can see in all social networks, now the news is something important that people pay
attention to, since social networks can filter those that may interest you or even by the
location range in which you are. all this information can reach people in a matter of
minutes.
● You also have to keep in mind that access to information is at your hands regardless of the
influencing factors that were present in the past.
● which is what makes information flow and be exchanged. It makes people have better
criteria when making decisions and can give their own point of view.
Your First Point
State your argument:
My first point is the socialization: Currently, social networks allow students to experience
an exchange of resources, ideas and information regardless of textbooks and thus allow
them to access opportunities that perhaps they would not have been able to in the past.
What's the information that supports your argument?
https://revistapesquisa.fapesp.br/es/las-redes-sociales-multiplican-las-oportunidades/
on the page of this Brazilian magazine shows that he did a study on how populations with
less possibilities find opportunities or studies in social networks.
Give examples, facts, figures, etc.:
In social networks you can find help on a specific topic that you may be having problems
with. You can find international exchange programs, study advice if you are not decided.
These are some of the examples.
Your Second Point
State your argument:
My second point is according to socialization you can get to the information.
What's the information that supports your argument?
https://www.biblogtecarios.es/sandraclemente/redes-sociales-medio-accesoinformacion/
According to this blog, it tells us how people make use of their social networks to access
information, be it news, events, weather or sports.
Give examples, facts, figures, etc.:
An example is that a young person has their social networks and according to their
interests. the same social networks are responsible for displaying the information that the
person wants or, for example, that they interact with their group of friends or with whom
they identify themselves and they can access information that they would not have been
able to access before, with just socializing or interacting in groups.
Closing statement
Chairperson, opposition and members of the audience, in conclusion social networks
have been a great invention by our ancestors, without a doubt, without them humanity
would be at a much better evolutionary level. It is essential to understand the need for
social networks because we, as a globalized and capitalist society, need full contact with
neighboring countries. From there we have been able to achieve an improvement in
culture, economy, the rise and rise of companies, politics, literature and the arts. Finally,
I would like to close with the previous sentence: “Communication is an essential
element for humanity. If you do not communicate, you do not exist”

Topic

Speakers’ names
Noralba Osorio Galeano
Speaker’s position
Negative
Expressing disagreement with first speaker’s arguments
I disagree that social networks are good in their entirety because they can be compared
to a double-edged sword, although social networks have been fundamental in human
development, they have also brought with their invention unfortunate events that
would have been avoided without the existence of them.
Why do you disagree with first speaker’s points?
In advance I fully respect the arguments of the opposition, however I don’t share the same
opinion because it is too optimistic a reality in a teenager with access to networks, although
they are a great resource of information that offers many possibilities also exists a terrifying
background that haunts mostly young people.
Briefly State the Points You Will Make
Today I will be talking to you about:
● Risks disguised as benefits
● Diseases caused by networks.
Your First Point:

“I just opened my Messenger. Do you remember Messenger? It is a desolate expanse of
connected bodies"
Social networks have exorbitant achievements and yet they should add that of "a space
with an unimaginable amount of debauchery" without mentioning the minorities of
guarantee they offer for user safety. Who are the victims? Young people with broken
hearts and insecurities galore, bearing in mind that we are being quite optimistic, in the
worst case; disappearances, kidnappings, extortions, suicides, harassment, rape, intimate
photos rolling around in every part of the world connected by a single phenomenon
"the social media"
Give examples, facts, figures, etc.:
Facts:

●
Diseases caused by networks.
The excessive use of social networks causes various mental and emotional disorders, the
main victims are young people between 14 years of age. In recent studies, the massive
appearance of depression, anxiety, impulsivity or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorders (ADHD) was presented, having problems in turn to control addiction to
networks and feeling co-dependent on them.

Closing statement
Chairman, opposition and members of the audience, in conclusion is although it is clear
that social networks, by allowing social interaction, will continue to evolve over time,
therefore allowing better communication, it is nevertheless necessary to take the
necessary preventive measures, such as privacy and moderate use of them, in constant
surveillance by parents of the content they consume in order to protect and prevent the
aforementioned.
