Manolo Millares fue impulsor del grupo LADAC (Los Arqueros del Arte Contemporáneo) y fundador del grupo El Paso en 1957. En 1958 participa en la
muestra Works of Art: Given or Promised en el MoMA de Nueva York y en la
Bienal de Venecia. En 1959 contacta con Pierre Matisse y Daniel Cordier, quienes se convierten en sus galeristas para Estados Unidos y Europa. En los años
sesenta se afianza su proyección internacional. Fallece en Madrid en 1972.
Entre las exposiciones póstumas de su obra destacan: MNCARS, Pierre Matisse y Acquavella Galleries de Nueva York, Galerie de France, París y Museo de
Arte Moderno, México.

Manolo Millares was the driving force behind the LADAC group (Los Arqueros
del Arte Contemporáneo – The Archers of Contemporary Art) and founder of
the El Paso Group in 1957. In 1958 he took part in the Works of Art: Given or
Promised show at the MoMA in New York and in the Venice Biennale. In 1959
he contacted Pierre Matisse and Daniel Cordier, who became his gallerists in
the United States and in Europe. In the sixties his international reputation
was consolidated. He passed away in Madrid in 1972.
Notable posthumous exhibitions have been held at: MNCARS, the Pierre
Matisse and Acquavella Galleries in New York, Galerie de France, Paris and
the Museo de Arte Moderno, Mexico.
