Press Release: 288July 15th, 2016 CONCLUSION OF THE CLARIFICATION STAGE OF THE RED COMPARTIDA INTERNATIONAL TENDER • During the clarification stage of the Red Compartida bidding process, the SCT and IFT answered nearly 900 questions. • Stakeholders in Red Compartida have reaffirmed their confidence in the project and have requested more time to pursue the necessary steps to obtain the needed financing. • New dates have been established for the upcoming stages of the project. The decision will now take place on November 17, 2016. Today concluded the clarification meetings stage of the Red Compartida bidding process. During this period, the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) and the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) answered nearly 900 questions from the participating bidders. In response to the requests made by the bidders during the clarification process, SCT and IFT have decided to grant additional time for preparation. The contestants, who have reiterated their strong interest in the project, have sought more time to finalize the financing of their bids, as well as to structure, propose and negotiate their debt instruments, and complete the necessary steps to obtain approval of the respective boards. The submission of the request for an opinion on economic competition and influence to the IFT was moved to September 12th and the date of award notification will now be on October 17th. The submission of proposals to the SCT will now take place on October 20th of this year, and the final decision of the tender will be on November 17th. The signing of the contract will occur no later than January 17th, 2017, and may take place sooner if the winning bidder meets the requirements for an earlier date. It is important to note that these modifications to the calendar were also requested by various national and international financial institutions who are interested in financing Red Compartida. Furthermore, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, the financial advisor to SCT in this project, also analyzed these changes, and found them to be positive and beneficial to the bidding process.
