Uniform Policy
2015 - 2016
Students at Rayma C. Page Elementary are to abide by the school’s dress code policy. The personal appearance of the
student is the primary responsibility of the parent/guardian. When students are dressed appropriately for school, they realize it
is time to work and learn. It is the intent of the dress code to provide our students with a feeling of school pride.
The uniforms for students are as follows:











Polo shirts in solid colors, long or short sleeve or button-down Oxford shirts in solid colors, long or short sleeve.
All shirts MUST be tucked in.
Pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, jumpers and capri pants must be navy blue (no denim) or tan/khaki only.
SHOULD BE OF STANDARD UNIFORM MATERIAL, i.e. lace, toile, chiffon skirts and dresses are not uniform material
Shorts, skirts, jumpers and skorts are to be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee.
Solid color sweaters may be worn in class or in the cafeteria, but heavy sweatshirts and coats are to be worn only outdoors.
A long sleeve plain white, gray or navy shirt (no other color) may be worn under the polo style shirt as needed for warmth.
Leggings are allowed under skirts or jumpers but must be solid color.
Sweaters must be a solid color; sweaters with small logos or details are acceptable.
Camouflage clothing of any color is not allowed.
Hooded sweaters and sweatshirts are not allowed.
Per District policy, adornments that are attached (pierced) to exposed body parts, other than the ear, are prohibited.
Examples of prohibited adornments to exposed body parts include, but are not limited to, objects attached or pierced to the
tongue, nose, eyebrow, cheeks, lips and teeth (grills).
 No boots or sneaker boots are allowed.
Rayma C. Page t-shirts or school related t-shirts may be worn as determined by the administration. Special days for students to be
“out of uniform” such as field trips, spirit days, Field Day, etc. will be announced throughout the year.
VIOLATION OF DRESS CODE POLICY
Students who do not follow the dress code policy will be given: A written warning and a call home (first offense)
Referral (second Offense)
Time out (Third Offense)
Detention/suspension (fourth offense)
The following establishes the specific standards for student dress:
POLICY AT ALL TIMES











Due to outdoor activities, closed toe shoes shall be worn at all times. Any shoe worn must be securely attached to the foot
so that it cannot fall off. High heels, clogs, crocs, flip-flops, and backless shoes, etc. are not allowed. Sneakers are
suggested every day for safety. If flip-flops are worn, parents will be called and a note will be sent home.
Boots and sneaker boots are not allowed.
Apparel shall be adequate in both length and coverage.
Clothing must be of appropriate size to fit the child. Oversized shirts, pants and/or jackets are not allowed. Pants should
fit properly and be fastened at the waist.
Shirts and blouses shall be of appropriate length. The length must extend beyond the waist level.
Articles of clothing or jewelry that could cause injury are prohibited. Long necklaces and long/large size earrings are
prohibited.
Hair should be well-groomed, clean and an appropriate length.
Mohawk haircuts, dyed hair or painted hair are not allowed. Moderately spiked hair is allowed. Designs in hair can be cut in no
more than ¼ of the student’s head.
Make-up is not allowed unless it is for a performance and requested by the school.
Any clothing, style or accessory of personal appearance shall not detract from the educational process.
Colored hair gel, hairspray, hair glitter or glitter body gel is not permitted.
NON-UNIFORM DAYS







Shirts and blouses shall be of appropriate length. The length must extend beyond the waist level. Transparent or see-through tops,
bare midriff, strapless, low-cut clothing, or tops and outfits that provide minimum coverage or are of a suggestive nature are
prohibited; halters, backless dresses or tops, tube tops, tank tops, muscle shirts, or any clothing which may be distracting are
prohibited.
Clothing must not have symbols, emblems, insignias, or badges that promote alcohol, drugs, tobacco, gang or cult related, or
obscene advertising or words.
Dresses should be worn at an appropriate length. Backless and spaghetti strap are not allowed on dresses or shirts.
Spandex clothing worn alone is not allowed. Spandex may be worn in a “layered” look, under shorts, skirts, and/or dresses.
Bandanas, kerchiefs, and/or sweatbands are not permitted.
Shoes with wheels are not allowed. If worn, the wheels will be removed.
At school, the principal has final authority to determine whether dress is appropriate or deeded disruptive to the learning
environment.
Any student not conforming to the District’s policy and/or the Rayma C. Page Elementary Dress Code will be required to call home for an
appropriate change of clothing for student.
DRESS CODE WILL BE CHECKED DAILY
P.E. Attire:
Tennis shoes or sneakers (no sneaker boots) and socks are required for physical education classes. Shorts should be worn for
P. E. especially under skirts and dress. Caps, hats and/or sunglasses may be worn for P.E. classes.

Todos los estudiantes de la escuela elemental de Rayma C. Page deberán sujetarse a las políticas del uso de uniforme, la apariencia personal de
cada estudiante es responsabilidad primaria de los padres o tutores, cuando los estudiantes visten apropiadamente ellos entienden que es tiempo
de trabajar y aprender. Es nuestra intención con el código de vestuario que nuestros estudiantes se sientan orgullosos de su escuela.
Los uniformes para los estudiantes son los siguientes:












Camisetas tipo polo de colores sólidos, manga corta o larga o la tipo Oxford.
Todas las camisetas tendrán que estar por dentro.
Pantalones, shorts, faldas, skorts,pantalones capri y vestido completo en tela uniforme deben ser azul marino o de
color marrón/caqui (no jeans). EL MATERIAL DEBEN SER DE CALIDAD UNIFORME, es decir encajes, tela regular,
chiffon faldas y vestidos no son de material de uniformé.
Los pantalones cortos, las faldas, y los jumper deben ir 2 pulgadas por encima de la rodilla
Las chaquetas o suéteres serán de colores sólidos para ser usados en la clase o en la cafetería los abrigos pesados podrán usarse
solamente en las afueras de la escuela.
Una camiseta de manga larga de colores sólidos blanco, gris o azul oscuro podrá ser usada bajo la camiseta del uniforme (de ningún
otro color) cuando el clima requiera estar abrigado.
Las mallas o pantalones para estar caliente en el invierno son permitidas debajo de faldas o el jumper pero deben ser de color sólido.
Los suéteres serán de colores sólidos; suéteres con logos o detalles pequeños son aceptable.
Los vestuarios de camuflaje en cualquier color no están permitidos.
Los suéteres y camisetas con gorra no son aceptables
Por la políticas del Distrito: Se prohíben los adornos que se pegan (perforaciones) a las partes expuestas menos en las orejas. Los
ejemplos de partes del cuerpo prohibidas incluyen pero no se limitan a la lengua la nariz, las cejas, las mejillas, los labios. Tampoco se
permiten adornos para los dientes.
No se permiten las botas ni los tenis que cubren las piernas como las botas.
Las camisetas de la escuela Rayma C. Page podrán ser usadas cuando la administración lo determine. Los días que se decidan como *Sin uniforme*
serian los días de salidas especiales, y se anunciaran a través del año.

SANCIONES POR EL INCUMPLIMIENTO DE LAS POLITICAS DE LOS UNIFORMES
Las siguientes son las sanciones para quienes no sigan las normas de los uniformes:


Un aviso por escrito y una llamada a la casa (Primera falta)
Nota escrita enviada a la casa y guardada en los archivos
(segunda falta)

Tiempo sin participar en ninguna actividad (tercera falta)

Suspension (Cuarta falta)
Lo siguiente está establecido como estándares específicos en el código de vestuario:
Políticas A SEGUIR DURANTE TODO EL TIEMPO











Para las actividades al aire libre siempre deberán usar zapatos cerrados o algún otro tipo de zapato que sea seguro para no tropezar y
caer. Los tacones o zapatos suecos (crocs) no son aceptados los tenis son los más recomendados para usar diariamente por la seguridad
que brindan. Si alguien usa sandalias le será enviada una nota y le llamaran a la casa.
No se permiten las botas ni los tenis que cubren las piernas como las botas.
La ropa debe tener el largo apropiado
Debe tener la talla adecuada de acuerdo a cada uno, tallas mas grandes de lo adecuado y chaquetas grandes no son permitidas, los
pantalones siempre deben ir en la cintura
Las blusas y las camisetas deben tener el largo correcto, deben extenderse hasta mas debajo de la cintura
Artículos de adornos o de vestimenta que puedan causar alguna herida no se permiten. Largos collares y aretes de largo/gran tamaño
están prohibidos.
El cabello siempre debe verse limpio y arreglado y una longitud adecuada.
No se permiten cortes de pelo de Mohawk, pelo teñido o pintado. Se permite pelo moderadamente con picos. Diseños en el cabello pueden
reducirse a no más de ¼ de cabeza del estudiante.
Maquillaje no se permite a menos que en una presentación sea requerido en la escuela.
No se permite ropa o accesorios que distraigan el proceso educativo.
Gel de colores para el cabello, laca, brillo del cabello con iluminaciones brillantes o gel de brillo con iluminaciones brillantes para el cuerpo
no está permitido.
DIAS DE NO-UNIFORME







Lo largo de las camisetas o blusas deben de estar hasta la cintura no se permite blusas trasparentes blusas estraples o blusas sin cubrir
apropiadamente o ropa que distraiga no son permitidas
La ropa no debe tener símbolos, emblemas, ni signos que promuevan el alcohol, las droga, las gangas y sus cultos o avisos obscenos o
palabras.
El vestuario debe tener el largo apropiado y la ropa sin espalda o estilo espagueti no es permitida.
La ropa expandex sola no se permite, puede usarse bajo el vestido, la falda los pantalones cortos o largos.
Pañoletas, pañuelos o bandas en la cabeza no se permiten.
Zapatos con ruedas no se permiten, si se traen les serán removidas las ruedas.
En la escuela la Directora, tiene la autoridad final para determinar que tipo de vestuario es apropiado o es distractivo para el
proceso de aprendizaje.
Cualquier estudiante que no que no vista de acuerdo al código y las Políticas del Distrito Escolar o de la escuela elemental Rayma C. Page se le hará
una llamada a su casa para que haga el cambio apropiado de ropa para el estúdiate.
EL CODIGO DE VESTUARIO SERA REVISADO DIARIAMENTE
Vestuario para Ed. Física : Zapatos Tenis (no botas de tenis) y calcetines se requerirán siempre en la clase de Educación Física, pantalones
cortos se pueden traer para esa clase especialmente de bajo de las faldas y vestidos también pueden usar gorras y gafas de sol.
