Casa de Campo, La Romana.-­‐ Casa de Campo Resort & Villas announces the third edition of the Casa de Campo Corre por Hogar del Niño Marathon, an event which apart from holding the 42K route, also includes a half marathon (21K) and races with distances of 10K and 5K, all certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The event, which will take place on Sunday November 27th, starting at 6 AM, is another example of Casa de Campo’s versatile range of activities aimed at the enjoyment of the entire community, as well as part of its new entertainment, health and sports project. The details of this exciting event were revealed by Rafael Torres, President of Casa de Campo Resort, and Xiomara Menéndez Dajer, President of Patronato Benéfico Oriental, the not-­‐for-­‐profit organisation hosting the event as a fundraiser for its diverse projects in the area of education, health and nourishment of thousands of children from local vulnerable communities. This event has become largely popular in the country, while also reaching an international crowd of runners, from places such as Puerto Rico, United States, Colombia, Italy and Venezuela, amongst others. Participating from this event allows the opportunity of running a marathon while enjoying the sites of the Caribbean’s most exclusive and luxurious touristic Resort. At the time of their registration, every runner receives a kit composed of an official event backpack, a dri-­‐fit, cap, BIB and CHIP: ‘In order to collect the Kit and to receive further information, please visit our official website www.cdccorre.org’. Competitors will receive medals for reaching the end goal, additionally from non-­‐cash awards, certificates and substantial cash prizes. The marathon will commence at 6 AM, with the 42K and 21K races, while the 10K and 5K races will start at 8 AM, before the various start times, there will be warming up sessions for the runners.
