Content Objective(s): Students will demonstrate knowledge of previously learned vocabulary structures in context 2. Language objective(s): Students will take a post test, read a story in Spanish, translate a story from Spanish to English, and practice greetings and introductions in Spanish. Actividades 1. Entrance ticket- Find content and process words for the Content and Language Objectives and copy them in Portfolio. Review What we are doing and What we are learning on a T-Chart. Read the story, “Soy Simon James George Frank Von McBughtenhoffer” silently (10 min) 4. Translate the story “Soy Simon James George Frank Von McBughtenhoffer” in groups of 2 (10 min) 5. Review translation as whole class (10 min.) 6. Practice greetings and introductions in inside/outside circle with Quiz-Quiz Trade cards that contain names of famous actors (15 min.) 7. Content Objective(s): Students will demonstrate comprehension of new Spanish vocab. structures in an oral story about a romantic boy 2. Language objective(s): Students will create a dictionary page of Spanish vocab., identify main events in a Spanish story, respond to questions in Spanish, and write words and phrases to describe a character in a story Actividades 1. Activity 1: Entrance ticket- Find content and process words for the Content and Language Objectives and copy them in Portfolio. Review What we are doing and What we are learning on a T-Chart. Activity 2: Warm-up-Quiz 3-Students number 1-11 and match the Spanish vocab. with the English vocab (10 min) 3. Activity 3: Diccionario page 1-Pass out a blank dictionary page to each student. Model the spelling of each word or phrase on the transparency, as well as definition, a sentence using the word and a drawing (10 min) 4. Activity 4: Additional practice with Diccionario page. Students cover up the left side of the dictionary page and then try to put their finger on the picture that matches what I say (5 min) 5. Activity 5: Introduce new vocab.-Introduce target vocab. listed below. Write vocab chunks on the word wall (Flip chart) and make gestures for each word or PQA (10 min) 6. Activity 6: Tell story and circling.-Tell “Roger el romático, capítulo tres” with student actors (30 min.) 7. Activity 7: Write about the story-Give each student a copy of the gráfica del personaje organizer. Put “Roger el romático” in the título space, and “Roger” under nombre. Students have 1 minute to write some words in Spanish describing Roger under description, model this on the overhead, asking the class ideas for what to write. Give 2 minutes to write one action of the character on each arm and leg. Model filling in those parts on the transparency with students´ ideas. (10 min) 8. Language objective(s): Students will read Chapter 1 of the novel “Pobre Ana”, translate Chapter 1, and indentify main events in the novel by responding to questions in Spanish Actividades 1. Activity 1: Entrance ticket- Find content and process words for the Content and Language Objectives and copy them in Portfolio. Review What we are doing and What we are learning on a T-Chart. By the end of class, I will be able to translate on sentence from Chapter 1 of “Pobre Ana” (5 min.) 2. Activity 2: Read Chapter 1 of “Pobre Ana” while translating and identify main events in Chapter by responding to questions in Spanish (30 min) 3.
