PLAN DE ESTUDIOS Español 2 SEMANA 11 (WEEK 11) (del 21 de marzo al 25 de marzo) Día 1 LECCIÓN: 8 Objetivos: 1. Content Objective(s): Students will be able to demonstrate comprehension of Spanish vocab. structures 2. Language objective(s): Students will write about the story with a partner using pictures, read a Spanish story, create a dictionary page of new Spanish vocab. Actividades 1. Activity 1: Entrance ticket- Find content and process words for the Content and Language Objectives and copy them in Portfolio. Review What we are doing and What we are learning on a T-Chart. By the end of class, I will be able to… (10 min.) 2. Activity 3: Write about the story. Students will write the story “Los hermanos que tienen que limpiar el baño”using pictures from the story as a whole class. Each group will retell the main events of the story and teacher and student will write the story as a whole class (25 min) 3. Activity 4: Read a story. Divide into partners. Pass out copies of Nesecitamos ayuda para limpiar el baño to each partner. Students will read quietly underlining unknown words. Give each partner 1 minute to read as much as they can (translating out loud in English.) Continue switching between partners until everyone has read the whole story. Go over the story, discussing 1st person singular verbs. (30 min) 4. Activity 6: Diccionario page 3. Pass out blank dictionary page to each student. Model the spelling of each word or phrase on the transparency, and a drawing. (15 min) 5. Activity 7: Exit ticket-Students will rate their learning on a scale of 1-4 and translate one sentence from today´s reading (5 min.) Vocabulario/Diccionario 1. Los muebles—Furniture 2. Activity 1: Entrance ticket- Find content and process words for the Content and Language Objectives and copy them in Portfolio. Review What we are doing and What we are learning on a T-Chart. By the end of class, I will be able to… (5 min.) 2. Activity 2: Warm up. Quiz Nueve—Have students number 1-10 and 1-4 twice. Give 5 minutes on the timer to match the Spanish and English vocab. Go over answers and have kids grade their own. (10 min) 3. Activity 3: TPR/TPR Review. Review the “Things in a house” TPR vocab. from L7& L(, and add in the TPR vocab. below (10 min) 4. Activity 4: Introduce new vocab. Introduce new target vocab. below. Write these vocab. chunks on the board and do PQA or make up a gesture. Do a quick closed-eye assessment and move on. (5 min.) 5. Activity 5: The Why Game. Play the Why Game with le encanta and va a ir a …, ¿Por qué? in order to get more Comprehensible Input with this vocab. (10 min) 6. Activity 7: Tell story/Q & A. “El restaurant de amor”—Tell story with student actors. Ask the whole class questions in Spanish about the story, re-working all the vocab. Go back through the story and do a quick verbal “Fill in the Blank.” (30 min.) 7. Activity 7: Read a novel in Spanish and translate the novel. Students will identify main events by responding to questions in Spanish (10 min) 8.
