BODILY INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Note: Heat trap nipples can be installed with the flapper end up or
down.
1. Turn electric power or gas supply off to the water heater.
2. Follow draining instructions found in the water heater’s operating
manual.
3. Remove piping from hot and cold fittings.
4. Put tape (not included) on threads of each heat trap nipple.
5. Either end of the heat trap nipple should be screwed handtight into
the water heater.
Then using a wrench (not included), tighten both until seal is
watertight.
6. Reconnect hot and cold water lines.
7. Follow filling instructions found in the water heater’s operating
manual.
8. Restore electric power for electric water heaters, or for gas water
heaters, turn on gas supply and follow lighting instructions located
next to the gas thermostat.
