140 MILLION WILL BE INVESTED IN BOCAS DEL TORO IN 2015 MEF presented Government Strategic Plan 2015-2019 to the Provincial Council of Bocas del Toro. The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) recently presented to the Provincial Council for Coordination of Bocas del Toro, the Government Strategic Plan 20152019 (PEG), the investment budget and the most important projects that will be developed in this province in 2015. The Director of Regional Planning, Marisin Herrera, on behalf of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Dulcidio De La Guardia, explained the pillars and axes that underpin the five-year plan and also listed the projects, programs and investments that will run this year the National Government in Bocas del Toro, for 140 million 489 thousand 209 dollars. Among the notable projects are the hospital of Bocas del Toro, works of sewers and aqueducts, as well as investments in the area of energy, education, transportation, labor and social welfare (120 to the 65’s, Guardian Angel, Networking of Opportunities, among others). Representatives of the municipalities in the region have taken advantage of the opportunity to list their needs and desires of their communities to the Mef’s authorities to take it into account in their forthcoming projections. "The Provincial Council is composed of honorable representatives very interested in solving the needs as promptly as possible and to such an approach is directed the National Government," said the director. For its part, the general coordinator of the National Program of Local Development (PRONADEL), Javier Galiali, stressed that the items in the 2014 for investment in the communal councils and municipalities throughout the country, by 73.7 million dollars, are already under the control of the entity to be deposited in each account.
