CENA APPROVES MORE THAN 3 MILLION DOLLARS FOR CRIMINAL CENTERS Food supply in prisons in Chiriqui, Cocle, Bocas del Toro, Herrera, Los Santos and Veraguas. With the objective of providing the food supply to those deprived of freedom and custodians of various prisons throughout the country, the National Economic Council (CENA) today approved five hirings by exceptional procedure to the Ministry of Government (MINGOB), for a total amount of US$ 3,091,367.50 (Three million and ninety-one thousand three hundred and sixty seven dollars and 50 cents). These services will benefit the prison population and custodians of the Public Prison of Santiago, province of Veraguas; the Criminal Center of David, province of Chiriqui, the Public Prisons in Chitré, province of Herrera, the penal institutions in Las Tablas and Guarare, province of Los Santos; the Public Prison of Changuinola, located in Bocas del Toro; and the public prisons in Llano Marín, Penonome and Aguadulce, in the province of Cocle. The five approvals given by the Economic Cabinet in favor of the MINGOB, correspond to recruitments by the period of one year beginning from January 1 st until December 31st, 2015, and include provisions for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the criminal populations and custodians of the prisons referred. The MINGOB will provide these food services through the companies Restaurante e Inversiones Mana, S.A., in Veraguas (US$ 324,211.25); Delicias Aura, S.A., in Herrera and Los Santos (US$ 452,235.00); Sociedad Lisseth, S.A., in Bocas del Toro (US$ 420,480.00); as well as Aristides Samaniego in Cocle (US$ 443,657.50) and José Maria Delgado Diez in Chiriqui (US$ 1,450,783.75).
