Marilee Ostman Cindy Smith David Stokes Beth Sitton Rosanne Wilson Morgan Manners Julie Baker Donna Setzer Martha Johnson Laura Stolte Emily Reynaga Kristy Walker Leslie Mason We are excited to introduce Morgan Manners to our school community. There are 20 “manners” in all. Below is a list of the second 10 Morgan Manners we have been reviewing. Mrs. Kish reads one manner each day during morning announcements. After day twenty, she repeats the manners over again. Good citizenship, behaviors and manners are important to instill or reinforce in all of our students. We try to catch our students practicing good Morgan Manners and acknowledge their positive efforts. Already our boys and girls are making these manners part of our school culture! We hope you will reinforce these manners at home as well. 11. If you bump into someone, even if it was not your fault, say, “Excuse me.” 12. Do not interrupt when others are talking unless it is an emergency. If you have to interrupt, say, “Pardon me or excuse me.” 13. Make eye contact. When someone is speaking, keep your eyes on him or her. If someone makes a comment, turn and face that person. 14. When you are with a substitute teacher, you should obey the same rules that you follow every day and show that substitute teacher your respect. 15. No matter the circumstances, always be honest. Even if you have done something wrong, it is best to admit your mistake. 16. If you approach a door and someone is following you, hold the door. If the door opens by pulling, pull it open, stand to the side, and allow the other person to pass through first, then you can walk through. If the door opens by pushing, hold the door after you pass through. 17. When greeting visitors or meeting new people, make them feel welcome. When appropriate repeat their names and shake their hands. 18. Always use appropriate “inside” voices when you are in the building, especially in the hallways and cafeteria. 19. Address adults and students respectfully by name or in a pleasant manner. 20. When riding on a bus, always sit facing forward. For your safety and the safety of others, never turn and talk to other students, stick anything out of the windows, or get out of your seat. When exiting the bus, thank the bus driver and tell him or her to have a nice day.
