SEMANA 6 (WEEK 6)
(del 7 de febrero al 11 de febrero)
Día 1
LECCIÓN: 3
Objetivos:
1. Content Objective(s): Students will be able to demonstrate comprehension of new Spanish vocab.
structures in context
2. Language objective(s): Students will identify main events in a Spanish story and respond to
questions in Spanish, and read the novel “Casi se muere”
Actividades
1. Activity 1: Entrance ticket- Find content and process words for the Content and Language
Objectives and copy them in Portfolio. Review What we are doing and What we are learning on a
T-Chart. By the end of class, I will be able to… (10 min.)
2. Activity 2: Warm Up. Quiz Cuatro—have students number 1-12. Give three minutes on the timer
to match the Spanish and the English vocab. Go over the answers and have students grade their
own (10 min)
3. Activity 3: TPR review/new vocab TPR.---Review last week´s list of words with TPR if needed
(based on the results of Quiz Cuatro---if a lot of the class had a hard time with some of the words.)
(5-10 min.)
4. Activity 4: Introduce story vocab. Introduce new vocab. and write these chunks on the world wall
and teach the target vocab. list below using TPR, Pesonalized Questions, or gestures (10 min)
5. Activity 5: Tell story. “El gato que tiene un buen negocio” Tell story with student actors (20 min)
6. Activity 6: Q & A. Ask whole class questions in Spanish about the story, re-working all the vocab.
Then go back through the story again with a quick verbal “Fill in the Blank” in Spanish (10 min)
7. Activity 7: Continue to read and translate the novel “Casi se muere” (10 min)
8. Activity 8: Exit ticket-Students will rate their learning on a scale of 1-4 and answer the HOTS
question: ¿Cómo se llama el Pit Bull de Sammy? El Pit Bull de Sammy se llama... (5 min.)

1. Conduce su camioneta por el vecindario---Drives his truck through the neighborhood
2. Toda la gente del vecindario oye del gato---All of the people from the neighborhood hear
about the cat
3. ¿En qué le puedo servir?---How can I help you?
4. ¿Le gustaría que corte el césped?---Would you like him to cut the grass
5. ¿Cuánto cuesta?---How much does it cost?
6. El perro sale corriendo---The dog comes out running

Día 2
LECCIÓN: 3
Objetivos:
1. Content Objective(s): Students will be able to demonstrate comprehension of new Spanish vocab.
structures in context
2. Language objective(s): Students will retell a story in Spanish to their partner, read a story in
Spanish, and continue reading and translating the novel “Casie se muere”
Actividades
1. Activity 1: Entrance ticket- Find content and process words for the Content and Language
Objectives and copy them in Portfolio. Review What we are doing and What we are learning on a
T-Chart. By the end of class, I will be able to… (10 min.)
2. Activity 2: Retell story with a partner. Divide into partners in their country groups. Pass out
baggies of pics to each set of partners. Give one minute on the timer to put pics in order of the
story. Partner 1 has 3 minutes to tell as much of the story as they can in Spanish, pointing to the
picture they are telling about. Partner 2 has 3 minutes to tell the story, pointing to the picture
they are telling about. Review with class. (20 min.)
3. Activity 3: Read a story. Divide the class into partners within their country groups. Pass out a
copy of “Mi buen negocio” to each partner. Partners 1 have one minute to read (translating aloud
into English) as much of the story as they can to each other. Partner 2 should start the story over
if they finish before their minute is up. Circulate while they read aloud to check for accuracy (and
participation.) Put up the transparency afterwards and go over the reading, pointing out 1st
person verbs (25 min)
4. Activity 5: Continue reading “Casi se muere” while translating, and identify main events in the
reading by responding to questions in Spanish (25 min)
5. Activity 5: Exit ticket-Students will rate their learning on a scale of 1-4 and translate one sentence
from today´s reading of the novel for HOTS (5 min.)

Objetivos:
1. Content Objective(s): Students will demonstrate comprehension in context while reading a novel
in Spanish
2. Language objective(s): Students will continue reading the novel “Casi se muere ”, translate the
reading, and identify main events in the novel by responding to questions in Spanish
Actividades
1. Activity 1: Entrance ticket- Find content and process words for the Content and Language
Objectives and copy them in Portfolio. Review What we are doing and What we are learning on a
T-Chart. By the end of class, I will be able to…. (5 min.)
2. Activity 3: Continue reading “Casi se muere” while translating, and identify main events in the
novel by responding to questions in Spanish (30 min)
3. Exit ticket-Students will rate their learning on a scale of 1-4 and translate one sentence from the
novel (5 min.)
